Research On Kehong Yin Yi For Guang Hong Ming Ji

Xin Ji Zang Jing Yin Yi Sui Han Lu(Kehong Yin Yi for short)is a yin yi book of Buddhist scripture which is written by Kehong in the Later Jin Dynasty.This book was completed in 940 AD and it focused on the discrimination of knotty characters,homomorphic characters and uncommon characters in the manuscripts of Buddhist scripture.The primary goal of this book is to right the wrongs of the characters of Buddhist scripture.Guang Hong Ming Ji is a work of Buddhism thoughts document collections which is compiled by Daoxuan and finished in 664 AD.Based on Hong Ming Ji written by Sengyou in Liang dynasty,Guang Hong Ming Ji was designed for the promotion of Buddhism spirit and interpretation of Buddhism justice.Kehong Yin Yi had thirty volumes.Guang Hong Ming Ji had thirty volumes at first,it turned into fourty volumes after after the Ming Dynasty.Kehong took manuscripts of Buddhist scripture which are stored in Yan Zuo Temple in Fangshan of He Fu as the original text.He took the other manuscripts of Buddhist scripture which include Shang Fang Tripitaka,Bai Ti Tripitaka,Thousand-Buddha Tripitaka,Kai Yuan Lou Tripitaka and the Old Tripitaka as reference.He also took yin yi books from other teachers' of Buddhist scripture which include Chuan Yin,Xin Ding Yi Qie Jing Lei Yin(written by Guo Yi),Nan Yue Jing Yin,Emei Jing Yin and Zhe Xi Yun as reference.Kehong noted 5480 yin yi in the 29 th and 30 th volume of Kehong Yin Yi for Guang Hong Ming Ji.This article take the 5480 yin yi as research object which the author called Kehong Yin Yi for Guang Hong Ming Ji(Yin Yi for short).On the basis of the full possession of character and literature which is related to Yin Yi and the comprehensive understanding of predecessors' existing research results,this article tries to discuss and study the interpretation style,the research value,the existing problems and the explanation for knotty characters of Yin Yi.The relevant research mainly use the knowledge of Philology,Exegesis,Phonology,Lexicography,Bibliography and Religion.The full text is divided into five chapters.The third,fourth and fifth chapter are the main part of the thesis.The first chapter is Introduction.This chapter introduces the object of research,analyzes the value of Yin Yi in Philology and Bibliography,combes the research results of nearly three decades about Kehong Yin Yi(Yin Yi included),provides the research materials related to Yin Yi,illustrates the research materials such as four methods of collation and five methods of explanation of knotty characters.The second chapter is The Interpretation Style of Kehong Yin Yi for Guang Hong Ming Ji.The interpretation style of Yin Yi mainly includes the headwords,the phonetic materials,the explanation of characters,the explanation of relationship of characters,the collation and the punctuation.Comparing Yin Yi with Huilin Yin Yi for Guang Hong Ming Ji,this chapter tries to discuss the nature,the characteristic and the function about different parts of Yin Yi through the analysis of classic examples.The third chapter is Kehong Yin Yi for Guang Hong Ming Ji and the the collation and comprehension of Guang Hong Ming Ji.Yin Yi has many-faceted research values.The most direct and most important purpose is to seek the value of the collation and comprehension of Yin Yi for Guang Hong Ming Ji.The study of Yin Yi may help to recover the real face of Guang Hong Ming Ji,may help to find the causes of variant text,may help to correct errors in the process of writing and engraving of Guang Hong Ming Ji.The fourth chapter is The Existing Problems in Kehong Yin Yi for Guang Hong Ming Ji.There are at least two problems in Yin Yi: errors in the process of writing and engraving and errors in the explanation by Kehong.These problems have various manifestations in the phonetic materials,the explanation of characters,the explanation of relationship of characters,etc.And they brought great inconvenience and hardships for scholars to use and study Yin Yi and therefore need to comb and solve integrally.The fifth chapter explains is The Explanation and Research of the Knotty Characters in Kehong Yin Yi for Guang Hong Ming Ji.The headwords of Yin Yi are transcribed from the manuscripts of Guang Hong Ming Ji of which Kehong took as the original text.The characters of explanation are the popular ones in the area of Kehong.According to the situation(variant text,context,ordinance,meaning,etc.)of using the characters in Guang Hong Ming Ji of which Kehong took as the original text,using the method of form,sound and meaning seeking each other,using the materials which include Long Kan Shou Jing(written by Xingjun),Huilin Yin Yi for Guang Hong Ming Ji and sui han yin yi of Bharhut Tripitaka,Zi Fu Tripitaka,Qi Sha Tripitaka,this thesis gave explanation for 63 groups of knotty characters in Yin Yi and made discussion for 27 entries of yin yi which were studied but still problematic.
