In an environment of postmodern digital entertainment consumption,no matter goods available for consumptions or consuming behaviors are becoming increasingly visible.Micro emoticon,as the most popular form of non-language emotional expression,constitutes a significant way of “living on chatting”,and extends the “on-the-spot” face-to-face communication mode.In addition,thoughts of audiences also enter a non-linear state jumping thanks to electronic windows that have been extended dynamically and speech acts on the internet also completely become symbolized expressions to some degree.Roman Jakobson presented a formalized model of "Sender-Message-Receiver" in the year of 1958 for both linguistics and poetics.From the aspect of utterance,in terms of expressions,researches on the postmodern aesthetic culture have turned to subjectivity in an extremely distinct way;in other words,personalized appearances of "Subject" are elaborated and "Subject" is thus introduced into articles.Thus,"Subject" turns into a very prominent role of expression;and its presence provides a rational background that exists for credibility of such elaborations as well as a medium which is necessary to maintain the integrity and the rationality of theories.Therefore,this paper begins with the subjective analysis of micro emoticons in Internet interactive situations,and study micro emoticons as part of the entire “communication-feedback” information cycle,including the communication among the creator,the conveyor(user),and the recipient.This paper attempts to reveal the entire behavioral process of micro emoticons from the three aspects of creation,transmission and reception.Opening up multi-angle perspectives to view the transmission of micro emoticons will be the beginning for us to understand the interactive communication function of micro emoticons.In the process of writing this paper,the writer adheres to a research principle of combining logic and induction with empirical analysis,and performs in-depth studies on plenty of motives for spreading micro emoticons as well as emotional responses after receiving them through non-structured interviews and questionnaires to collect first-hand data.In the meanwhile,the writer hopes that from the perspective given in this paper,influences of micro emoticons can be studied deeply,so are their communication values and aesthetic recognitions.Moreover,not only are further studies on visual symbols facilitated,but constructions of relevant subject disciplines are expanded and perfected.In addition,by probing into cases succeeding in developing and operating products of micro emoticons,and analyzing the behavior pattern for "Use & Gratification" relation of such emoticons,basis of empirical studies can be provided for the emerging cultural creative industry in China.In the course of the study,semiology,communication sciences,linguistics and aesthetics are adopted as theoretical starting points of this paper;related contents of postmodernism philosophy,Interaction design,psychology and sociology,etc.are included into the subjectivity research framework of micro emoticons.Besides,following attempts are made.1.According to the "language and society covariant theory" put forward by Richard Bright,an American scholar,Starting from the perspective of post-modernity,creation,spread and receiving phenomena of micro emoticons that stem from the cyber language are incorporated into the post-modern context so that a new theoretical orientation can be provided for us to understand subjectivity creation,spread and receiving contexts as well as features,etc.of such micro emoticons better.2.Interpretations of the Postmodern Psyche,which are "de-centralization","Differance" and "Carnivalization",given by a postmodernism theorist named Jean-Franconis Lyotard are borrowed to read post-modern features for the creation subject of micro emoticons.3.As the "Deviant" theory presented by Merton is adopted to analyze the game spirit of micro emoticons' creation subject,corresponding creation motives are dug from the perspective of social structure.4.The theory of social imitation and the "Strong Meme" Development Principle originating from the Theory of Evolution are both applied to analyze basic law and approaches of micro emoticons' encoding and decoding during their spread together with their propagation tendency of "Mediumlization".5.According to relevant theoretical opinions from "Social Psychology","Emotion Psychology" and the "Psychology of Attitude Change and Social Influence",spreading motivations of the communication subject(individual)are analyzed for micro emoticons from aspects of "pro-social motivation","power motivation" and "impression management motive".6.From angles of the commercial character and the playfulness,postmodern features of the communication media are analyzed for micro emoticons.7.In line with related theoretical views of "Heteronomy Desire" doctrine,rational reflections on aesthetic psychological impacts of micro emoticons' reception subjects are carried out;and starting from theoretical points of "inter-subjectivity" and "communicative behavioristics",etc.presented by Habermas,the inter-subjective relationship among creator,communicator and receiver is interpreted.Moreover,rationalized behavior patterns are also established.8.In addition,from perspectives of the design science and the communication sciences(use and gratification),empirical research analysis is conducted for spread and receiving subjects of micro emoticons so as to provide theoretical and quantitative research supports for the fabrication of such micro emoticons and assist with their users to achieve more satisfactions.The research results and practical significance of this paper are mainly embodied in following aspects:(1)the relation model of "uses and gratification " has been established form a perspective of "design science" for the transmission of micro expression symbols in the IM,which has an important role for future UI design and the expression symbol design on the mobile terminal.(2)Mental mechanism of interpersonal communication motivation has been deeply studied from perspectives of communication and psychology.(3)"Rational" behavior pattern for the interaction between human and symbolic in the Internet Age has been constructed form a perspective of philosophy,namely establishing the similarity and resonance of aesthetic understanding,fit between life world with perceptual symbols and rational design,value of innovative thinking--attention economy ecological chain;advocating communicative rationality,cultural integration of design and paying attention to the psychological differences of group culture.
