The rich collection from the court to the folks formulated in the middle and late period of the Northern Song Dynasty especially in the Huizong period.Xuan He Hua Pu(《宣和画谱》)is the first official painting bibliographic document which was under this influence that came into being.As the first official painting in China’s history with the name of " Hua Pu"(画谱),it has pioneered the work in the paintings of paintings and calligraphy.The earliest systematically classifying,naming and recording the paintings scientifically Name and the Record of the Author’s life.The compilation draws on the traditional bibliographic description and records the selected 6396 paintings.Although there are imperfections on the writing style,it is the earliest relatively mature bibliographic literature of Chinese painting and calligraphy catalogue.The way in which the catalogue of paintings is compiled provides a paradigm for the cataloguing literature of public and private paintings for later generations.Facing a large number of court paintings,the classification was the first task of compilation.The classification of Xuan He Hua Pu divides many works into Ten categories based on the subject matter of painting Theme.This classification method is relatively scientific,but it has not further been subdivided on this basis.The descriptions of Xuan He Hua Pu reflect the collection principles of the palace paintings of the Northern Song Dynasty.Among the many collections of the palace,the most representative works are selected to enter Xuan He Hua Pu.Paintings before the Song Dynasty were especially valued in compilation.Painters of the Song Dynasty could be recorded was closely related to the especially fond of emperors.The painters of Hanlin Painting Institute had little chance to be recorded because of their status and qualifications.At the same time,the naming of many paintings is also regular.The name of Song Huizong is also the main source of painting names in addition to the previous literature.In addition to the literature of the predecessors,the title of Huizong in Song Dynasty was also the main source of the name of painting.In addition,all kinds of painting were named in accordance with certain principles.The naming of the paintings in Xuan He Hua Pu provided a reference basis in later literature as well as the collection and identification of later generations.The dynasty of Jingkang is a great disaster in the paintings of Xuanhe XuanHe HuaPu.The collected work of the royal courts in the Northern Song Dynasty are scattered.The paintings surviving in this disaster are circulated in the public and private collections of Jin and Southern Song Dynasty.Later,these works became popular works in the courts and folk collections of the Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties.The main method of studying the circulation of paintings in Xuan He Hua Pu is the collection of literary works.From the historical documents of the courts and the catalogues of literati collectors,the paintings recorded in the Xuan He Hua Pu in the public and private collections are collected.These paintings have been spread to a large extent,and have been preserved in major collections at home and abroad.Although they have been appraised by experts,they are mostly for future generations,but they are also the reference for the world to know the paintings of Xuan He Hua Pu correctly.
