Capitalization And Practical Logic Of Contemporary National Traditional Craft Culture

Cultural capitalization is a practical proposition.The essence of capitalization of national traditional crafts and culture is to utilize and develop national traditional crafts as cultural capital under the market economy environment.The capitalization of national traditional crafts and culture is closely related to the future trend of traditional crafts,cultural heritage and protection,the development of national culture,and even to cultural industry and cultural strategy.Then,what are the specific contents of the capitalization of traditional national craft culture? What is the logic of practice? What laws exist in the process of practice? In the face of these problems,this paper takes the Bai Woodcarving in Jianchuan as a typical field case,with the aid of oral history,historical documents,internal materials and other materials,using the "cultural capital-field-practice" theory of Ethnology(cultural anthropology)to focus on this research.Based on an overview of the history,technological process and artistic style of Jianchuan woodcarving,this paper expounds the concept,types and characteristics of the cultural capital of Jianchuan woodcarving.On this basis,the paper focuses on capital accumulation,market operation and capital game in the process of capitalization of Jianchuan wood carving culture,and summarizes the practical logic and basic law of capitalization of traditional national craft culture.Through the research,the article holds that:Firstly,the practice of capitalization of contemporary national traditional crafts and cultures includes three aspects: capital accumulation,capital market operation and capital game.The capital market operation we usually understand is only one of them.Accumulation of national traditional craft and cultural capital refers to the growth,perfection and agglomeration of capital,which is based on retaining the original structure and content of cultural capital.The accumulation path of contemporary traditional craft and cultural capital can be divided into four categories: education and training,communication,market regulation and power guidance.Market operation of cultural capital refers to the development of cultural capital according to market demand.The market operation mode of ethnic traditional craft and cultural capital includes industrialization,tourism development,festival economization,branding and exhibition commercialization;the game of ethnic traditional craft and cultural capital is an interactive behavior among actors around cultural capital,and the purpose of the game is to occupy more cultural capital.The game of national traditional technological and cultural capital revolves around material cultural capital and non-material cultural capital.The game strategies adopted by the actors can be divided into three kinds: maintenance,development and striving.There are intertwined relations among capital accumulation,market operation and capital game.Capital accumulation is the premise and foundation of market operation.Market operation provides direction for capital accumulation.Cultural capital game often runs through the process of capital accumulation and market operation.Game based on rationality will promote capital accumulation and market operation of cultural capital.Second,the capitalization of contemporary national traditional crafts and culture has its own practical logic.Practice activities must depend on their field and take habits as the internal driving force.In the process of practice,the capital of national traditional crafts and culture constructs a specific field(primary field),and derives three secondary fields: the field of capital accumulation,the field of market operation and the field of capital game.There are some differences in the logic of practice of cultural capital in these three fields,but they must abide by the logic law of the primary field.The core habit shaped by the field is the cultural marketization habit,and the basic law of the field is a double-line law.The logic schema of capitalization practice of traditional national craft culture can be summarized as follows: in the field situation,the core habits of production practice would be emerged through shaping,which according to the requirement of double-line law.Thirdly,the double-line law is the basic law that must be observed in the practice of capitalization of traditional national crafts.The double-line rule is determined by the characteristics of the operation field of the capital of national traditional crafts and cultures.It requires that the practice of the capitalization of national traditional crafts and cultures should be carried out reasonably and orderly on the premise of respecting the law of cultural development,which should be under the condition of maintaining the gene of traditional crafts and cultures and in accordance with the relationship between supply and demand in the market.In the process of capitalization of national traditional crafts and cultures,we cannot ignore the requirement of the double-line law.The crux of the problem of homogenization and involution of culture lies in the lack of full respect for the double-line law.
