Culture plays impotant role in economic growth procedure.In particular,when human society has entered into the digital economy era,the role of culture is not only reflected in the competitiveness of products,but also in its decisive influence on the path of economic growth.In the digital economy era,cultural-related economic sectors have gradually risen and become a new engine of economic growth in global.However,the mainstream economic theory has not paid attention to the role of culture in economic growth,especially the literature on the relationship between digitalized culture and economic growth is scarce,which provides a new research entry point for this paper."Culture" is defined from two levels in this paper,one is the culture of ideological beliefs and values,that is,cultural customs,the other is the culture of production factors and consumer products,that is,cultural creativity.Combined with relevant literature and theoretical analysis,this paper considers that "cultural creativity" is more suitable as an object of economic research.Under the definition of this concept,this paper sorts out three traditional paths for studying cultural creativity and economic growth: one is the “cultural industry” research route;the second is the “cultural capital” research route;the third is the “creative class” research route.Furthermore,this paper integrates these three routes,combine with the mainstream economic growth theory,constitute a cross-sectional research structure.Through inductive summarization,theoretical derivation and mathematical analysis,this paper proposes a theoretical model of cultural creativity that influences economic growth through the “diffusion-innovation” mechanism.It is found that:1)Human society has entered the digital economy era from the industrial age,and the main determinants of economic growth have changed.The digital economy brings innovation in production factors,innovation in resource allocation,innovation in production organizations,and innovation in business models.These provide a broader space for cultural creativity to stimulate the economy.2)Cultural creativity is an endogenous factor in economic growth.Because cultural creativity has become the value component of commodities,the "text" content has become capital.These are the premise at the economic level.Meanwhile,"attention" has become a scarce product;the producers have become the creators and communicators.These are the premise at the communication level.Since the digital economy constitutes a new economic system,the above two levels can be combined and studied together.3)Cultural creativity affects economic growth is the synthesis of two processes of cultural creativity production and cultural creativity diffusion.The creative class and cultural creative content together constitute the cultural capital,form a kind of production factor;the innovation brought by the diffusion of cultural creativity cause no diminishing marginal returns of this factor.Therefore,the formation of the cultural creative class and its internal interaction are very important for cultural creativity production.The “cultural creative innovation” promoted by the digital economy is one of the components of the modern economic innovation system.The mixed influence of cultural creativity and technological progress is the source of long-term economic growth.This paper also tests the above main research conclusions by using the econometric analysis based on factor analysis,industrial correlation analysis and case analysis.The regression analysis of 31 provinces in China shows that at the regional level,cultural creativity has a significant role in promoting economic growth.The digital economy reflects some mediating effects and regulatory effects in the mechanism of cultural creativity affecting economic growth.Integration of cultural creativity and other factors of production is the specific form of cultural creativity promoting economic growth.Through the analysis of China's industrial correlation and the case analysis of the global smart phone industry,it is concluded that: First,the cultural industry is highly correlated with other industries.China's cultural industry is an intermediate product industry,cultural industry is closely related to other industries in the national economy,and its products are input into the production of other industries as an important factor;second,in the manufacturing industry or other industries,cultural and creative departments have emerged,which are no longer engaged in production,research and development,transportation,management and other kind of work,but giving the product more cultural connotation innovation through design,marketing,advertising and even patents,thereby increasing the value of the product.These two approaches are important proofs that cultural creativity influences economic growth through a “diffusion-innovation” mechanism.According to the above research conclusions,this paper puts forward relevant policy recommendations from four levels: one is to lead industrial transformation and upgrading with cultural creativity at the industrial level;the other is to construct a cross-composite urban cultural creativity system at the regional level;the third is to promote the deep integration of digital technology and cultural creativity at the technical level;and the fourth is to construct an ecosystem of cultural innovation at the cultural level.
