The Study Of Prepositional Structure �Starting Point Preposition + X + Noun Of Locality�

Prepositional phrase �Starting Point Preposition + X + Noun of Locality� can be used as a prepositional structure.This prepositional structure consists of three parts: the first part is preposition �Starting Point Preposition�,the second part is the intermediate constituent �X�,and the third part is the postposition �Noun of Locality�.Including introduction and conclusion,this study of prepositional structure �Starting Point Preposition + X + Noun of Locality� is divided into eight chapters.Chapter 1: This chapter discusses the significance of the topic,summarizes the previous research status and related results of the prepositional structure,expound the research method and corpus to be used in the paper.Meanwhile,this chapter also explains the research objectives,problems for further studies to be solved and possible innovations.Chapter 2: This chapter analyzes the composition,component analysis,internal relation and the diversity of the intermediate constituent �X� in the prepositional structure.Chapter 3: Two aspects are mainly investigated and analyzed in this chapter: the first aspect is about the formation and syntactic functions of the prepositional structure �Starting Point Preposition + X + Noun of Locality�,whether the position of the prepositional structure can be placed in the beginning,the middle or the end of a sentence.The second aspect is to discuss and analyze the problems of �starting point preposition� and �Noun of Locality� in the prepositional structure.Chapter 4: This chapter concentrates on the semantic analysis of prepositional structure,specifically discusses the following four aspects: 1,semantic function;2,semantic similarity and relevance;3,syntactic position influence;4,comparison of several different prepositional structures,further discussion and exploration on the features of prepositional structure in modern Chinese language.Chapter5: This chapter intends to make a primary investigation into the expressive function in co-occurrence usages of prepositional structure �Starting Point Preposition + X + Noun of Locality� and negative words.Moreover,the study includes the analysis and discussion structure of sentence in a situation of negative words in the beginning and the end of the prepositional structure and also the influence of the position of negative words on the syntax and semantics of prepositional structure.Chapter 6: Two aspects are mainly investigated and analyzed in this chapter: the first aspect is about pragmatic functions,research of topic markers and expressive functions of the prepositional structure;the second aspect is textual functions,research of cohesive functions and the functions of scope in the prepositional structure.Chapter 7: This chapter demonstrates a comparative study of expression in different categories of the prepositional structure between Chinese and Thai languages from the view of typology.Chapter 8: The research results are investigated the problems which remain to be further deeply studied in this chapter.
