The Analysis On The Structure Of "Prep+N/NP+Locality Noun"

Locality Nouns, which are used to express the concept of space, are the most basic and commonly used nouns and enjoy a prominent place in Chinese. Based on previous studies, this paper tries to use the relevant theories of Cognitive Linguistics to analyze the 16 pure locality nouns in the structure of"prep + N/NP+ locality noun". The purpose is to analyze and explain the specific questions of Chinese locality nouns in actual usages. This paper is divided into the following parts:Introduction mainly deals with the brief review to the researches of locality nouns, and at the same time raises questions and presents the research method.The first chapter begins with the meaning and grammatical function of pure locality nouns, defining locality nouns and analyzing their grammatical functions, space meaning and space extended meaning of locality nouns.The second chapter presents a comprehensive analysis the pure locality nouns, semantic overlapping and syntactic distribution in the structure of"prep + N/NP+ locality noun".The third chapter provides a reasonable explanation towards the hidden nature of pure locality nouns in the structure of"prep + N/NP+ noun of locality", by looking through the influence of"N/NP", preposition and reference subjects and objects on the hidden nature of locality nouns.The conclusion part summarizes the main idea of this paper.
