The beginning of Chinese modern music is often marked by the wide spread of western 'new'music in China.Since the rise of school songs in the early 20th century,western music has been spreading and developing in China.At the same time,the western professional composition technique and music theory also came into China.In 1919,The May Fourth Movement broke out.Under the impact of the new ideological trend,people's national character and self-consciousness began to awaken,and they began to explore the path of nationalization and individuation.The development of Chinese modern composition technique and music theory,as if following the new democratic revolution experienced a baptism,sprout,grow and mature in a short period of 30 years.The professional music career in China has been truly launched since Dr.Xiao youmei brought the western professional music education system and composition technique and music theory back to China in 1920.Therefore,this article choose the "May 4th" movement in 1919 as the beginning of China's "composition technique and music theory" history,the perspective focus on the development of modern China "composition technique and music theory",From the perspective of music creation and theoretical development,looks at the continuous development and improvement of Chinese professional music from 1919 to 1949,and explains how the western composition technique and music theory was introduced,spread,developed and integrated in China during this period.This dissertation divides the development of music in the past three decades into three stages:the introduction and dissemination of western composition technique and music theory(1919-1929);The exploration and development of Chinese composition technique and music theory(1929-1939);The introduction of the new theory of western music and the "fusion" stage of Chinese and western music(1939-1949).It contains six parts:introduction,four main chapters and conclusion.The Writing logic is:1.Through the introduction,the writing objectives,research methods,research objects and the status of Chinese music before 1919 are summarized,and "etymological analysis of the composition technique and music theory " and "introduction of western music" are listed separately."The introduction of western music" is not an presentation of the introducing process,but an explanation of the rationality and inevitability of the combination of western composition technique and music theory and Chinese music in other aspects.2.The first three chapters,which are divided into three periods according to 1919-1929,1929-1939 and 1939-1949,study the development achievements of Chinese composition technique and music theory in each decade.This division can conclude the characteristics of composition technique and music theory and the development of professional music education in each period.The specific research method is to objectively reflect the development status of the composition technique and music theory at that time by means of scores,textbooks and other texts,so as to draw a conclusion.3.Through the fourth chapter,the research conclusions of one to three chapters are converted into practical operations,and the theory is reacted to practice,so as to further sublimate the significance of theoretical research.4.Finally,the author summarizes the formation and development of modern Chinese composition technique and music theory from 1919 to 1949 and draws a conclusion.The article aims to achieve the following goals:1.Make a detailed analysis of representative works in each stage of this period;2.Further analysis of the theoretical works of this period,especially those of enlightening significance in modern and contemporary times;3.Make a summary for the important composers who failed to summarize their own theoretical system in this period;4.Research on the integration process of Chinese and western composition technique and music theory and creative dimensions;5.Provide theoretical support for creative practice and teaching practice.
