With the continuous improvement of China's international influence and the continuous deepening of “The Belt and Road”,more and more people are learning Chinese.Chinese was introduced as early as the Western Han Dynasty and is one of the most important foreign languages in Vietnam.Chinese characters(ch(?) Hán),Sino-Vietnamese characters(t(?) Hán N?m),and Han Yue characters(t(?) Hán Vi(?)t)have become a part of the Vietnamese language system.With the rapid economic growth and social development today,the demand for Chinese manpower in Vietnam is increasing.Vietnamese universities pay more attention to Chinese teaching and researching.However,the current teaching of Chinese in Vietnam is still focused on teaching skills,theoretical research,teaching model research,online and offline(O2O)teaching integration,and how to improve learners' autonomous learning ability have not received the attention they deserve.Facing changes in the Internet context,how to find a new way for Vietnamese students to learn Chinese effectively is particularly important.Aiming at the problems of low autonomous learning ability and Chinese teaching method need to reform,this study explored the construction of an O2O(Online/Offline)teaching Chinese as a foreign language(TCFL)model,that's suitable for Vietnamese universities to improve students' autonomous learning ability.This study also discussed learning environment design,learning activities organize and construct evaluation indicators,and specific case studies.Given the research problem,this paper focused on the following work.(1)Construct an O2O TCFL model.Based on the literature analysis,based on the humanistic learning theory and new constructivist theory,combined with Vietnam universities' situation,have designed an O2O TCFL model for improving students' autonomous learning ability.Two hypotheses are proposed.Firstly: the O2O teaching model is suitable for teaching Chinese as a foreign language in Vietnam;Secondly: this process will reduce the interference of unfavorable factors,stimulate the role of favorable factors,and gradually cultivate and improve learners' autonomous learning ability.The evaluation indicators and evaluation schemes of the O2 O TCFL model were also formulated,which provided corresponding evaluation standards for the subsequent verification of the effectiveness of the model.(2)Design the implementation environment and learning activities of the O2 O TCFL model.Based on the theoretical basis,design principles,and model structure of the O2 O TCFL model,this study created a learning environment that supports improving learners' autonomous learning ability.The relationship between the learning environment and learners' autonomous learning ability,as well as how to design the O2 O TCFL model online/offline learning activities are also discussed.(3)To carry out the practice,the Edmodo platform used,the research object was Chinese students of the Hanoi Metropolitan University,the “Chinese language and culture” was taken as an example course.To verify the effectiveness of the O2 O TCFL model,we used design-based research with three rounds of iterative design practice that included the preliminary application,detailed application,and enhanced application of this model.Through three semesters,with iterative design,adjustment of teaching activities,online tracking' analysis,classroom observation,and survey data of 187 students,results show that most students not only adapt to the new teaching model,new learning concepts,their self-awareness,information literacy,community belonging and academic achievements have improved also.This also proved that the O2 O TCFL model is enhancing learners' autonomous learning ability effectively.The Internet education applications have just emerged in Vietnam is bound to challenge traditional teaching methods,also to Chinese teaching,and it is the only way to find a suitable teaching model.The knowledge explosion in the Internet era highlights the importance of autonomous learning ability,which is not only the goal of school education but also to lifelong learning.This research hopes to construct the O2 O TCFL model,to improve the autonomous learning ability of Vietnamese college students so they can actively adapt to the requirements of autonomous learning and lifelong learning in the Internet era.Although I have been teaching Chinese for a long time in Vietnam,I experienced that Chinese is much more difficult than other languages.Choosing this research topic is also a challenge,exploration,and improvement.I hope that this research can not only promote my work in the future but also provide some reference for the theory and practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in other countries.
