Construction And Application Of Well-Being Index System

The developmental well-being system includes all socialized,institutional,professional and service areas which can make the whole members satisfied and happy in our society.From the first decade of the 21st century to the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period,China has been moving towards a huge welfare society.The government is insisting on pursuing the quality of residents' life by shared social development.What extent can the public share the achievements of these developments effectively in our country?How can these achievements not only benefit the public by institutions,policies and the logical resources allocation but also make our life not only keep well but also get better?This study,which aims to promote the life quality,defines well-being as a stage where the residents pursue a higher life quality by shared social resources.A simple individual-based quotient index system has been constructed for the well-being of both urban and rural residents.The evaluation and reflection on subjective and objective well-being of people is based on the sample residents from Shandong Province and this system.Finally,the policy considerations are given.To begin with,considering the domestic and oversea studies on well-being development,this dissertation builds a reasonable and localization assessment system in the perspective of residents,by analyzing the background of social policy and the definition of developmental welfare and well-being.What makes sense is the data from residents in the urban and rural not only provide empirical foundation on evaluation and improvement of well-being but also lay the foundation of the policy in the well-being areas.The second part is the construction of index system which involves the following three parts:the theoretical construction,the exploratory construction and the empirical construction.The index system is given the theoretical construction in the method of literature dissertation by collecting the basic documents such as relevant laws,policy documents,news reports,conference communique,statistical yearbook from home and abroad.And then it is given the exploratory construction in the method of the typical case interview and the textual qualitative analysis by using software such as Nvivo10.0 and Tagx-do to divide and summarize the content and level of welfare indicators.The final stage is the empirical construction of the system.Questionnaire surveys are used to collect data from 1008 valid survey participants who are chosen from Dezhou and Yantai.Meanwhile,empirical construction of index aims to test the statistical characteristic and verify the theoretical model,by collecting qualitative texts from the well-known experts in the field of well-being assessment.The final shape of the above index system includes objective indexes and subjective indexes.The objective indexes can be used to measure the residents' actual enjoyment of social resources in different areas such as health,labour,living surroundings,culture,social security,social network participation and so on.And the subjective indexes can be used to quantify the external evaluation and internal happiness when urban and rural residents enjoy the social resources.The third part mainly discusses the preliminary application of residents' well-being.In this part,Shandong Province as a sample is taken with the method of quota sampling in questionnaire investigation.During the investigation,2511 valid questionnaires were sent to residents in Jinan,Qingdao,Dongying,Weifang,Zaozhuang,Linyi,Liaocheng,Yantai.This discussion based on the results of data analysis mainly includes:Firstly,distribution and typical differences of well-being index system in different demographics;Secondly,the relationship between subjective and objective well-being in different demographics residents.Considering the characteristics among residents with different demographic factors and the analysis of situation on heath,living surroundings,labour,social security and network participation,some policy consideration and suggestions which aim to not only help residents share different social resources in different filed but also improve the development of objective and subjective well-being in harmony are proposed.The innovation of this study mainly contains the following three aspects.Firstly,the dissertation has constructed the instrument of resident well-being by these three procedures,the theoretical construction,the exploratory construction and the empirical construction,which enrich the category of assessment indexes.Secondly,the Predictive-Interpretive relationship between External-Internal subjective well-being and objective well-being has been discussed deeply.Last but not least,the policy from the perspective of the combination of objective and subjective well-being has been considered.
