The Impact Of Political And Economic Crisis On The Efficiency Of Industrial Enterprises:The Case Of Ukraine

Political and economic crises have a significant impact on the economies of countries and regions around the world.Ukraine is no exception,there was a significant drop in industry,which affected the main macroeconomic indicators.This situation requires the implementation of decisive measures aimed at restoring production.For the study,the goal is to obtain empirical results that would clarify the situation with the impact of crisis processes in the economy on the performance of individual companies.Achieving the goal of this dissertation research provides an answer to the questions of which factors of the political and economic crisis have the greatest impact on the economy of the country as a whole,on the development of companies in the industrial sector,and on the formation of the export potential of industrial production.In addition,it is very important to answer the question of which the exit from the crisis situation are today the most effective for industrial companies in Ukraine.For this study,the primary data comes from 386 Ukrainian industrial enterprises from 2010 to 2015.These enterprises are selected according to the principle of the greatest volume of annual exports.The study also provided an analysis of macroeconomic indicators of the development of the Ukrainian economy from 2005-2015.Based on the analysis conducted in this study,the main features of the development of political and economic crises were established,as well as their impact on the industrial companies' efficiency.Production companies in Ukraine do not work effectively.This is due not only to the crisis but also to the fact that the principles of outdated management,which were applied during the time of the Soviet Union.These principles do not meet modern management requirements and the requirements of the international market for goods and services.In the course of the study,the theoretical foundations of the formation of the efficiency companies are outlined,the approaches and prerequisites for the political and economic crises growth,the specifics of the anti-crisis policy of companies are grounded.Methods of analyzing primary data made it possible to draw a number of important conclusions that can be used to formulate proposals for improving the industrial companies' performance in crisis conditions.On the basis of primary data collection,regression models were conducted,and their analysis was carried out.In this dissertation,the estimation of the influence of economic crisis factors on the general Ukrainian macroeconomic indicators is considered.Based on the collection of primary data,the analysis of the dynamics of all key indicators of the country's economic development was carried out.The obtained results of the analysis were used to draw conclusions regarding the strength of the influence of various economic and political factors on Ukrainian enterprise's performance.An important part of the work is the justification of the prospects for the development of Ukrainian exports through the development of industrial production by small and medium-sized businesses.The results of the analysis made it possible to determine the main prerequisites for developing a strategic model for increasing the efficiency of industrial companies.Based on the results of the current research,prospects for increasing the efficiency of industrial companies are formulated.For this purpose,the prerequisites for the formation of an effective policy of stimulating the development of industry are grounded.Proposals have been made to implement a five-year strategic plan for state stimulation of the companies' performance growth in the industrial sector.Socio-economic conditions for improving the performance of enterprises are justified.These proposals include the following directions:introduction of the state anti-crisis policy in the economy industrial sector,raising the level of investment attractiveness of Ukrainian manufacturing enterprises for foreign investors,increasing the level of export potential of industrial companies,improving the methods of state regulation of the industrial sector development,developing general practical recommendations for optimizing industrial management systems companies in times of crisis.The achieved scientific results can be used to develop programs for overcoming the consequences of the political and economic crisis.These refer to the level of government organizations of Ukraine,as well as to the management bodies of industrial enterprises.
