Interact And Benefit:On The Communication Activities Of Educators In The Republic Of China(1912-1937)

The educators who were elites in the field of education had played an important role in the development of modern China.Since 1840,China had tremendous national crisis and had to face up to social changes.Many people had devoted themselves to build new-style schools and cultivate talents because they believed that education was the only way to realize national salvation and social reform.So they cooperated and supported each other to promote the modernization of education through three social relation which are the geographical relationship,scholastic relationship and ambition relationship weaving the network of communication and forming a dazzling phenomenon that educators are appearing together.While affected by the turn of life in the study of history the research of education history further expand constantly,it turns to a urgent work that expanding the research of the educators' communicative activities of education.This study is based on the theories of communicative action and community in perspective of micro-history and muti-discipline using their biographies,diaries,letters,writings,memoirs from above three perspectives to discuss the educators'association and interaction with others on education and to summarize the descriptions,characteristics,forces and effects of these activities.According this we can find that the educator has a wide range of bi-directional interpersonal interactions in the early 20th century.They not only influence others but also improve themselves a lot such as getting rich social capital,enhancing educational thought and to form a stable academic community having a life of community through interaction.So in this way we can place the human beings in the center of the history of education reducing the true conditions,to explore their true life and then expand the educational academic field.Besides it has an important enlightenment to the inaction activities between scholars nowadays.The part of "Introduction",mainly deals with the reason for topic's selection,the value of the study,the review and the discussion on the significant concepts,time limit,theories and method to benefit to the writing and framework of the research.The first chapter of "interaction between inside and outside the dynamics:the background and motivation of communication activities",from the perspectives of the political environment and economic environment to explore the educators' living environment and communicative activities'background,from the perspective of the national crisis and the personal faith to discuss the external and internal motivation to interact with others.And it analyses the influence and affect of the west culture communication to China from the introduction of educational theories,western educator visiting China,overseas education's development and educators' investigation aboard and so on.The second chapter of "geopolitical relationship:association and assistance activities based on the complex of hometown",through researching the educators' distribution in geography and colleges explores the geopolitical interaction relationship between educators.From associating with the person from the same province,depending on him or supporting each other to show the basic process and the mode that educators build the network of association with other educators on education.And then analyse the pros and cons that building interpersonal contact and carrying out educational interaction by geopolitical relationship.The third chapter of "scholastic relationship:association and growth activities in pursuit of knowledge and academics",mainly discusses the internal connection between the prosperity of overseas education and the flourish of educators' interactive activities.And this part also explored the true activities that the educators had carried out with their teachers,schoolmates and colleagues in pursuit of knowledge and academics presenting educators' mind and scene,summarizes the activities'characteristics and disadvantages.The fourth chapter of "ambition relationship:association and interaction activities based on common faith",expounds educators' activities for the same or similar education aspirations,academic interest and the interactive situation between those educators who have the same ambition and the internal communication interaction.And then sums up the respective characteristics and utility between the individual interaction activities and the group interaction activities.The fifth chapter of "a case study:Chen Heqin's educational communication activities",presents the details and true scenes of these communication activities respectively from his interaction with tutors,peers and students.And it not only explores the method how to build ambition association network by using the journal "children's education" and the organization "the China Children's Education Society" but also explores the group interaction according holding annual conferences.Then it analyses Chen's centrality degrees of communication network,summarizes the main characteristics and differences of his different types of communication in order to gain some valuable experience that how to realize the value of themselves and how to build up a academic community by ambition relationship.The sixth chapter of "summary on the educators' association activities before the Anti Japanese War",reflects on the associations activities between educators.And it summarizes the main way,general characteristics,influence factor and basic effect of those educational asscociation activities aiming at deeply recognizing the laws,influences and functions of educators' association activities to provide some experience.
