From the standpoint of educational theories, teacher-student relationship is the most important and basic one in school education backgrounds, permeates all of school-education activities and has a direct impact on education effects and students' developments. From the perspective of teaching practice, we can also experience the importance of teacher-student relationship. Recently, however, we have witnessed some problems even conflicts between teachers and students. What's more, news reports often cover such conflicts. All those have pushed us to pay attention to and ponder over problems about teacher-student relationship. According to some previous researches, teaching practices and news reports, it is believed that there are some serious problems in recent college teacher-student relationship. Then what are the problems? What have brought them about? What influences have they had? How could they be solved? This thesis is based on the educational theories the author has learned, especially communicative educational theory, and has carries out questionnaires and interviews to investigate and analyze current college teacher-student relationship and communication situation.To communicate means to be together with others, it is one of the basic needs for a person to be in the world. People are the result of communication, and it is through communication that a human-being becomes people. Communication is the process of reparation, complementary and expansion for a people. This thesis has explored the problems in college teacher-student relationship from the views of teacher-student communication. It has also researched that the key point of the current poor teacher-student relationship and the low satisfaction between them is the lack of teach-student communication. Concretely speaking, most of the teachers and students think that the frequency of teacher-student communication is low. The main content of the communication focused on the knowledge learning and hasn't been deepened into the themes concerning students'full development. Besides, parts of students have less willingness to initiate communications.Investigation showed that this phenomenon is deeply relevant to the principle that knowledge teaching is the core of modern education. Meanwhile, there are also some objective factors from social environment and educational system which hold back the communication between teachers and students. This thesis has analyzed those problems one after another in detail and meant to propose some feasible solutions. In view of the fact that teachers are the promoters in education activities, the author suggested how to improve teacher-student communication and relationship mainly from the teachers'standpoint and discussed what attitudes and capabilities a teacher should have to promote healthy communication. As for those objective factors, the author also tried to propose some elementary advices to overcome them such as abandon the traditional teacher-student relationship and advocate human-develop based education concept. We also should increase the education budget and try the rule-by-professor-campus education practice and so on to reform the education environment, so that the deeper level of teacher-student communication can be carried out and the teacher-student relationship can be improved.Through the research of this thesis, we hope to urge the teachers to transform and the education environment to improve, thus we can enhance the teacher-student communication, and amend the teacher-student relationship, and finally reach the goal of improving our education.
