Research on the Enlightenment Form of Ideological and Political Education in Han Dynasty of ChinaAlthough the term “ideological and political education” originated from the modern times,in ancient times,ideological and political education as a practical activity always existed because of the needs of the interests of the ruling class and the needs of ruling society.Ideological and political education is reflected by different forms in different social formation and historical periods.In Han Dynasty,ideological and political education existed in the form of enlightenment.“Enlightenment” is the essential feature of ancient education and the essence of Confucianism,which has strong practical wisdom.The so-called “enlightenment” means “influencing the people by enlightening them” and “enlightening the people by Taoism”.The rulers of all dynasties paid great attention to the ideological education of political attitude,political beliefs,ethics and values through various means and methods,which is usually called “enlightenment”.The Han Dynasty was the first dynasty in Chinese history to implement “enlightenment” throughout the country,regarding enlightenment as a major task.“Enlightenment” was vigorously promoted from the central government to the local government,achieving good social effects such as consolidating the state power,regulating social contradictions,and purifying social customs.Although the thought,content and method of enlightenment in Han Dynasty may not fully adapt to the development of ideological and political education today,through the systematic research and reviewing of the enlightenment in Han Dynasty,we can find and extract the valuable implications of the enlightenment of Han Dynasty to the modern ideological and political education,which can provide historical resources and models for our modern ideological and political education.This thesis attempts to study the enlightenment in Han Dynasty,integrate the theory of the enlightenment in Han Dynasty,making a comprehensive study from its connotation,development,content and methods,so as to construct a relatively complete enlightenment system and explore the implication and reference to modern ideological and political education,so as to promote the connotative development of ideological and political education,and open up a new situation in the development of ideological and political education.This thesis consists of an introduction part and four chapters:In the introduction part,the background and significance of the research on the enlightenment of the Han Dynasty are analyzed,the relevant concepts are defined,the academic research on the enlightenment of Han Dynasty are reviewed,the research methods are briefly discussed,and the difficulties and innovations of this study are pointed out.In the Han Dynasty,enlightenment played a very important role,which is not only an important means of assisting government,but also an education of moral concept and social ethics,ultimately serving the feudal rule.The enlightenment of the Han Dynasty is an objective historical phenomenon.A thorough study of the enlightenment of the Han Dynasty in China is not only of high academic value,but also of practical significance.The first chapter mainly discusses the preconditions and historical evolution of the enlightenment in Han Dynasty.In this chapter,some basic theories of the enlightenment of Han Dynasty are expounded,including its connotation and characteristics,the origin of the enlightenment of Han Dynasty is traced,the development course of the enlightenment of Han Dynasty is researched,and the germination period,period from theory to practice of the enlightenment,the ossification period of enlightenment practice,and the representative figures and their thoughts are analyzed.The Han Dynasty was the first one in Chinese history to implement enlightenment nationwide,which set up a model and became a milestone in the history of ancient enlightenment.The enlightenment of the Han Dynasty is the product of specific historical conditions,showing distinct characteristics of the times,integrating politics,education and morality.It is an activity with characteristics of political practice and moral practice,which is more systematic and practical than before.Chapter two mainly discusses the aims and main contents of the enlightenment of Han Dynasty in China,giving a general description of its aims and contents.The main contents of the enlightenment in Han Dynasty include the enlightenment of ethical values with filial piety as the core,political ethics,ideology and morality,and the enlightenment of the whole people,etc.In Han Dynasty,through the full implementation of enlightenment,traditional core values are constructed and the education of political identity is set up,with distinct purpose of political domination.In Han Dynasty,through enlightenment,Confucianism's political thoughts and values were recognized by the people,and the discourse right of Confucianism was established,thus realizing the socialization of politics and the legalization of feudal ideology,and establishing a new cultural order in order to unite people,realize the unity of ideology and politics,guarantee the legitimacy of feudal monarchy and consolidate the centralization of feudal power.Chapter three mainly analyses the ways and means of enlightenment in Han Dynasty.The methods of enlightenment in Han Dynasty mainly include the teaching of ruling class to enlighten the people,positive inculcation,demonstrating by one's own deeds,setting up an example of enlightenment,influencing the people and forming moral customs,and self-cultivation,etc.In addition,legal and moral textbooks are also effective supplements to the implementation of enlightenment.The main ways of enlightenment in Han Dynasty were school education,family education,and social education,integrating into the joint force of education.Chapter four elaborates the inspiration and referential significance of the enlightenment of Han Dynasty in China to modern ideological and political education.It generally reflects on the enlightenment thought of Han Dynasty in China,analyses its positive and negative factors,and discusses the “selective inheritance” and “reinterpretation” of enlightenment thought of Han Dynasty in China.This chapter expounds the referential significance of the enlightenment thought of Han Dynasty in China to the development of modern ideological and political education,that is,providing resources and promoting the connotative development of modern ideological and political education,which includes the transformation of the perspective of ideological and political education content,the new strategic vision of ideological and political education methods,and the new way choice of the effectiveness of ideological and political education.The value of history lies not only in displaying the past development track,but also in enlightening the trend of future development.Although the enlightenment in Han Dynasty can not fully adapt to the development of modern ideological and political education,the ideological vitality and educational wisdom among them should be absorbed and inherited.The construction and development of the discipline of ideological and political education need not only to strengthen the study of the current theory of ideological and political education,but also to actively carry out the study of the theory of ancient ideological and political education.By criticizing and inheriting the enlightenment thought of Han Dynasty,we can enrich the research content of modern ideological and political education,improve the effectiveness of modern ideological and political education,and promote the development of modern ideological and political education theory.
