"Exercise promoting health" is an important issue of common concern in ancient and modern medicine,especially in the contemporary society.Chinese traditional exercise and western modern sports represent two different styles of physical exercises,and the comparative study of them is a hot issue of current research.Based on some cognitive biases in previous studies and in order to reveal the similarities and differences between them more systematically and accurately,on the basis of "exercise promoting health",this paper makes a comparative study on the objective,method and technical principle of them and ponders on their communication and combination in the contemporary society.The main conclusions are as follows:1."Exercise promoting health" is the common living experience of human beings.Chinese traditional exercise and western modern exercise represent two typical exercise forms in China and western countries respectively.2.The historical development characteristics of Chinese traditional exercise and western modern exercise are as follows:(1)Chinese traditional exercise is directly based on Chinese traditional medicine,and has a consistent in the cognition on human body,while in the method,it is always based on the medical guidance method constructed by traditional physicians.(2)The development of western exercise is also directly based on Western medicine.The great change of modern medicine makes western exercise experience a great change in value,but it shows a historical continuity in methods.(3)Western exercise began to bear the corresponding national and social responsibilities in a certain sense from their modern time.Different from it,after Chinese modern times,Chinese traditional exercise has gradually been taking on the social responsibility of promoting national health.3.In terms of exercise objectives,the basic objectives of Chinese traditional exercise and western modern exercise are the same,which are to promote the overall health.As different forms of exercises,they are based on different medical cognition of the body,making them show two group of different value cognition in terms of operational objectives: "invigorating vital energy" and "consuming energy","dredging meridians" and "strengthening fitness".4.In terms of exercise method,based on different operation objectives,there are significant differences between Chinese traditional exercise and western modern exercise.(1)In terms of method composition,Chinese traditional exercise and western modern exercise have their own method systems.They present two groups of differences: "cohesion" and "openness","nationality" and "universality" in method composition.(2)In terms of exercise load,both them emphasize the importance of moderate load,but based on different exercise objectives,but there are difference in intensity.Meanwhile,in terms of the specific requirements of load,the two show a difference of "fuzzy" and "accurate".(3)In exercise time and space,there are some differences between Chinese traditional exercise and western modern exercise.However,there is a certain consistency that they both arrange exercise time and space according to a certain regular relationship between human and nature.5.In terms of technical principle,there are significant differences in functional cognition and practical application of body,breath and mind regulation between Chinese traditional exercise and western modern exercise.Chinese traditional exercise has more abundant practical methods than western modern exercise.(1)Chinese traditional exercise exercises the meridians and tendons through the regulation of body,breath and mind,and controls the inhalation,exhalation and circulation of breath,so as to dredge meridians and regulate qi and blood,and seeks to achieve the steady state of "three Harmonies" through the self-guidance of mind,so as to realize the overall self-healing of body functions.(2)Western modern exercise forms a certain mechanical stimulation to muscles and breathing through certain body activities,so that the movement function of the body can be exercised,the body composition can be balanced,and finally the function of each system of the body can be positively affected.6.In terms of communication,currently the western world takes the Chinese traditional exercise into the scope of alternative and complementary medicine,and their attitude is questionable;Meanwhile,China accepted the western modern exercise in an all-round way,and researchers tend to put Daoyin and martial arts into the field of sports.Therefore,to make Chinese traditional exercise "scientific" is the most obvious problem in the communication of them.Actually,"scientificization" is a key for Chinese traditional exercise to communicate with the western world,but only scientific research has also become a shackle to reveal the essential characteristics of Chinese traditional exercise.7.Nowadays,the popularity of "integrated medicine" and the development of "natural medicine" provide a favorable background for the combination of Chinese traditional exercise and western modern exercise,and also indicate its good prospects.To combine them can not only develop the life potential of human beings from multiple perspectives,but also meet the needs of modern people in different aspects.
