Research On The Professional Ability Construction Of College Counselors

College counselors are organizers,executors and instructors of students'ideological and political work,and they are important parts of college teachers and management teams,shouldering the sacred duties and glorious mission of enhancing morality and fostering talents.In 2014,the Ministry of Education promulgated the"Professional Competency Standards for Counselors of Institution of Higher Education(Provisional)",which put forward the basic requirements of "high political quality,good capability,strict discipline,and positive style;a wide-ranging knowledge of relevant disciplines in ideological and political education;and strong organizational management skills and professional competence characteristics such as language,verbal,educational guidance ability and research capabilities" for college counselors.Strengthening the construction of college counselors in new era,improving the professional accomplishment and ability of college counselors,enhancing their professional status and credibility,and promoting professionalization and professional development of college counselors play a significant role in strengthening the ideological and political education of college students,and implement the fundamental task of enhancing morality and fostering talents.Based on the theoretical basis of college counselors' professional ability construction,this study is oriented by the practical needs and practical problems of college counselors' professional ability construction.By combing the conditions and development process of college counselors' occupations,and analyzing the current construction status and its underlying causes,this study proposes countermeasures to improve the professional ability of counselors.The thesis consists of three sections:introduction(1st chapter),main section(2nd-5th chapter),and the conclusion.The first chapter introduces the background and significance of the research,summarizes and analyzes the research status and development trends at home and abroad,and clarifies the logical structure and research methods of the thesis.The second chapter reveals the theoretical basis of the professional ability construction of college counselors.Among them,Marxist theory of all-round development of human beings is the theoretical basis for the comprehensive improvement of professional quality and competence of counselors;Marxist theory of practice points out the ultimate source,development motivation,fundamental purpose and testing standard of counselors' professional ability;The Marxism theory of subject embodies the objective laws contained in the professional and individual characteristics of the counselors.The three party constitute the ideological basis of the subject-centered,object-based,and benign interaction between the subject and the object.In the new era,president Xi Jinping made an important exposition of ideological and political education,especially pointed out a new direction for the ideological and political education in colleges,and put forward new requirements for further development of counselors'work.The exposition consists of the education of ideals and beliefs,socialist core values and the importance of labor education,which becomes a new breakthrough for the improvement of counselors' professional ability.Improving the professional efficacy of counselors is the key to enhance the professional identity of counselors.From the perspective of competence to super-competence,ideological and political value theory,environmental theory and object theory clarify the field of counselor's professional ability construction and practice.In order to construct a practical way for counselor's professional ability improvement,achieve the purpose of vocational ability construction,and promote the all-round development of students,who is the object of education,under the premise of promoting the comprehensive development of counselors,counselor's professional ability construction needs to combine career development theory and professional psychology theory.The third chapter clarifies the basic content of college counselor's professional ability construction.The initial establishment of college counselors aims at promoting the smooth development of ideological and political work in colleges of our country.After 70 years of the founding of new China,especially since the reform and opening-up,the basic content of college counselors' professional ability construction has gradually become clear.This study summarizes the basic goals and principles of current college counselors' professional ability construction,the components of their professional ability,and the basic work of improving the professional ability construction of college counselors.On this basis,it builds up the model of improving professional ability of college counselors.The fourth chapter combs the historical evolution and policy orientation of college counselors' professional ability construction.Based on the reality,retrospective history and future prospects,this study summarizes the functional orientation and clarifies the future policy orientation of college counselors' professional ability construction,on the basis of summarizing the institutional evolution and policy changes of the construction.It focuses on the analysis of the status,important role and some deficiencies in the implementation of the Professional Competency Standards for Counselors of Institution of Higher Education(Provisional).In particular,it discusses the outstanding problems of the inaccurate content of counselor's professional ability construction,unclear level of hierarchy and imperfect construction conditions,and it analyzes the underlying causes for its formation and lays a solid foundation for solving problems and proposing countermeasures.The fifth chapter proposes an effective way of improving the professional ability of college counselors.Based on the professionalization of counselors,this study explores the improvement path of counselors' professional ability from four aspects,namely,perfecting the guarantee system,establishing career planning system,promoting professional identity system and strengthening learning and training system for college counselors,providing practical reference for the counselor's professional ability construction.The conclusion summarizes the study and points out the inadequacy of research and the trend of further development.
