General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized in the report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,and the main contradictions in our society have been transformed into contradictions between people' increasing needs for a better life and unbalanced and inadequate development.From the ecological environment perspective,"people's increasing needs for a better life" undoubtedly contains people's increasing needs for better ecological environment,i.e.needs for better green life.Nevertheless,in reality ecological crisis has obviously become one of the main factors restricting the satisfaction of people's needs for better ecological environment.Hence,there is real contradiction and opposition between people's needs for better ecological environment and the increasing difficulty for the current ecological environment to meet people's needs for a better life.The fundamental approach to breaking this contradiction is that every citizen shoulders the responsibility of environmental protection and construction conscientiously,that is,green responsibility.Without any doubt this should be achieved by actively promoting people's green responsibility education.It can thus be concluded that research into people's green responsibility in the new era is a theoretical response to the pressing call of the new era of our Socialism with Chinese characteristics.The choice of this subject is of great theoretical and realistic significance.The new era has its own unique practical mirror and time characteristics.What's more,it is also a risky era where the ecological crisis is unceasingly enlarging.Scientific tackling of global ecological risks,resolution of ecological environment crisis,promoting revolutionary changes in our country's development methods,building a community of shared future for mankind all need citizens to consciously undergo ecological protection and construction,and perform green responsibility.The scientific development of Ideological and Political Education also realistically calls for citizen green responsibility education to be incorporated into its own subject system.In terms of connotation,Citizen Green Responsibility Education in the New Era refers to education towards citizens about reasons and approaches for people to shoulder ecological protection and construction responsibility facing more and more serious ecological environmental risks and crises.It is an educational activity centering on advancing green responsibility concept of the new era citizens,enhancing their awareness of green responsibility norms,cultivating their green responsibility emotion,and fostering their green living habits and means of production.Its implementation can impart green knowledge,awaken green needs,inspire green behaviors,promote green happiness and stimulate green aesthetics.Due to this,this educational activity has significant social value of cultivating green citizens in the new era,advancing the implementation of green development strategy,and promoting the harmonious co-existence of human and nature.Citizen Green Responsibility Education in the New Era has solid theoretical foundation and rich ideological resources.The theoretical foundations of this educational activity are firstly,Marx and Engels' green ecological thoughts and secondly,communist ecological civilization and green development theory promoted by nation leaders Mao Zedong,Deng Xiaoping,Jiang Zemin,Hu Jintao and Xi Jinping.The ideological resources contain Chinese traditional ecological thoughts taking "the union of heaven and human","Taoism follows nature" and "equality of all sentient beings" as cores and western ecological citizen thoughts.Citizen Green Responsibility Education in the New Era is a scientific educational activity and thus has its particular content and approach system.In order to scientifically respond to the new era's realistic needs for citizen green responsibility education and effectively cultivate and promote citizens' green responsibility awareness,the content of citizen green responsibility education inevitably includes citizen green responsibility concept education,citizen green responsibility norm education,citizen green responsibility emotion education,citizen green lifestyle education and citizen green production mode education.They compose its complete content system.Consistently,citizen green responsibility education in the new era should comprehensively utilize theory teaching method,emotion rendering method,fear enlightenment method,practice tempering method and example model method,etc,organically integrating knowledge instruction,value on creation of emotional atmosphere,promotion of the formation of the awareness of unexpected development,emphasis on exercise of behavioral practice and value on the leading role of "green men" examples.Only through these can citizen green responsibility education in the new era achieve practical results.In reality,Citizen Green Responsibility Education in the New Era is facing several practical problems such as marginalization,blind obedience,valuing knowing while ignoring action,virtue tendency and separation of reward and punishment.As for the reasons,lacking integral consciousness of citizen green responsibility education,domination of educator-centered ideology,ignorance of the value of practice on cultivation people,lacking awareness of the value of happiness education,and insufficient awareness of the integrality of rights and responsibility are undoubtedly the factors contributing to the problems of such an educational activity.To solve these problems so as to perfect citizen green responsibility education in the new era,realistically the following methods should be adopted:guiding citizens' green responsibility education with Xi Jinping's green ecological education ideology,building a four-in-one new era citizen green responsibility education system,embedding citizens'green responsibility education in modernducation of the rule of law,infiltrating citizens'green responsibility education in the process of national governance modernization,improving citizens'awareness of green responsibility through green culture construction,incorporating green responsibility knowledge dissemination into the whole process of media dissemination,and making use of civil organizations to train citizens to fulfill green responsibility,etc.
