The green of a golf course represents the facade of a golf club, and the quality of the green is a key indicator to evaluate a golf course.Being an important evaluation index of the quality of green, the green speed is relatively easy to access and of more concern. However, domestic research on the greean speed is not sufficient for the time being due to certain factors. As golf returns to the Olympic Games in recent years and major international competitions, amateur events and youth competitions are being rapidly developed in China,we usher in a good opportunity to improve the quality of the greens of golf courses.Above all,the uniformity of the green's speed, which directly affects the player's performance, should be more emphasised. In order to study and improve the uniformity of the green speed of the championship golf course in North China, this paper develops a new green speedometer and applies it to the green speed measurement for the existing green speed measuring instrumentsThe paper mainly uses the newly self-developed green speedometer to measure the green's speed. The green speedometer not only can meet the functions of the second-generation stimu speedometer, but also adopts the side-by-side design of a three-roller,as to increase the efficiency, reduce the measurement time, and also avoid the conceivable influences between the rolling balls.Meawhile, the new speedometer performes well when the slope of the green is large, which solves the problem of large instrumental errors on steep slopes. Moreover,it is able to calculate the friction coefficient of the greens, following the measurement instructions. The speedometer uses mechanical devices instead of manual, and as a result, the instability in measurement is reduced and may the accuracy be improved theoreticallyThe new green speedometer measures the difference in green speed between 10 areas on the No.17 green in the Nicklaus Stadium, the green speed difference between the 18 greens in the same month, and the difference in the green speed across the course between different months.Measure, record and compare, and record the soil hardness and lawn clipping height that may affect the speed of the green and use the DPS system to analyze the data regression. The final result is that the speed of the No.17 green is in the interval of 9.62±0.14ft,the speed difference in 10 different areas is less than 15cm,which meets the requirements of the USGA for the green;the green speeds of the 18 greens from May to October are respectively 9.49±0.64,9.87±0.55,8.10±0.79,8.92±0.66,7.65±0.28,8.78±0.53ft within the range;18-hole green speed range within six months is 8.8±0.96ft,the speed difference is about 30cm,distance from the world There is still a lot of space for the first-line stadium;the regression equation is Y=10.135-0.227*X1*X1+0.004*X2*X2,and the p-value is<0.001,which proves that the regression is extremely significant. The indicator of pruning height has a greater impact on green speed. The remaining pass factor is 0.65,which indicates that there are other factors that have a greater impact on the green speed and can be further studied.Through the experiment,we perfect the conventional green speedometer and measurement methods, and come to that the newly developed green speedometer has a good practical value.A more standardized operation method helps to reduce the error in the green's speed measurement. The method of "numerical±variation range" is conducive for the players and managers to get the situation of the greens and has a positive impact on improving the quality of the greens. The Pine Valley Nicklaus Course performed well in the experiment. However, the fluctuation of the green's speed throughout the year is slightly large. In this regard, more efforts are needed in order to win the favor of the players thoughout the world.
