Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up,China's higher education has achieved a historic breakthrough and become the world's largest country in higher education.Under the background that "new normal" has become the key word of the government's ruling idea,it is an urgent task for higher education in our country to recognize,judge and realize the new normal of higher education and transform it from a big country of higher education to a powerful one.In the planning framework of Healthy China 2030,college physical education is the "last mile" of school physical education and health education,which plays an important role in realizing the whole-person education and cultivating healthy and high-quality talents for the country.As the improvement of the quality of education depends on the improvement of teachers' level,under the new normal situation of higher education,promoting the professional development of College PE teachers and promoting the improvement of the quality of college physical education is an important topic in the research of college physical education.However,at present,there are many problems in our College PE teachers,such as low level of educational theory,lack of educational knowledge,single teaching ability and lack of teaching enthusiasm,which not only seriously hinder the development of physical education research and practice,but also fail to meet the needs of humanism,sociality,ecology and system of physical education in colleges and universities.Therefore,focusing on the professional development of College PE teachers is an inevitable trend for higher education reform,and it's also an important subject in realizing the “new normal” of higher education.This research takes the professional development of College PE teachers as the research content.By using the research methods of literature,questionnaire,interview and case analysis,and adopting the mixed research design,this paper makes a thorough and comprehensive analysis of the current situation,problems,influencing factors,stage characteristics,content composition,realization path and support system of College PE teachers' professional development.At the same time,it combs and analyses the life and deeds of Mr.John Ma,a famous physical education educator in China,and puts forward the value choice for the future development of physical education teachers in colleges and universities.This study makes up for the lack of systematicness,scientificalness and rigor in the current research on College P.E.teachers,and has important theoretical value for the specialized research of College P.E.teachers' professional development.It also makes up for the lack of perspective of College P.E.teachers in the practice of professional development.This research deeply takes into account the needs of College PE teachers' professional development,appeals for providing necessary and sufficient support strategies and methods for its development,which provides practical reference for the construction of the professional development support system of College PE teachers in China.The main conclusions are as follows:Firstly,by using the general idea of "theoretical analysis" to "empirical investigation" and then "theoretical analysis",this study determines the theoretical basis of the study,including the theory of training transfer,the theory of lifelong education,the theory of teachers' professional development stage,and the practical basis of the study using the "U-G-S" teacher education model.Therefore,it clarifies the research issues,defines the core concepts,presents the existing research on this issue,and summarizes the theoretical and practical basis of this study.Secondly,through the actual investigation of the professional development of College PE teachers in China,we find that there are some problems,such as the younger teachers,the lower theoretical level,the unbalanced distribution of professional titles,the lower overall research ability,the larger proportion of primary professional and technical posts,the relatively weak salary and treatment,and the insufficient persistence of professional level.Although most College PE teachers agree with the necessity of professional development,there are some problems in the actual professional development process,such as imperfect guarantee mechanism,inappropriate training content,low professional identity and job satisfaction,and lack of effective evaluation and evaluation mechanism.However,the professional development of college PE teachers needs multi-motivation and multi-content support.The breadth of knowledge demand and the depth of skill demand provide a strong background for the research and progress of professional development of PE teachers in colleges and universities.Thirdly,based on Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory,Herzberg's two-factor theory and Brookfield's adult learning theory,this paper puts forward a three-dimensional analysis model of the influencing factors of College PE teachers' professional development,including social environment,workplace and individual level.Based on this analysis model,this study compiled a questionnaire on the influencing factors of professional development,and collected 400 questionnaires for teachers and 48 questionnaires for experts.The results of SPSS data analysis show that the main factors affecting the professional development of College P.E.teachers include government policies and regulations,degree of marketization and industrialization,selection and promotion system of College P.E.teachers,recruitment and management system,training and management system,performance evaluation system,management and supervision mechanism of college P.E.teachers.Fourthly,based on the influencing factors discussed above,this study explores the process of teachers' professional development,combs three stages of development from the perspective of professional socialization and self-professional development consciousness,summarizes the development modes of different stages,and puts forward "layered training mode of College PE teachers' professional development" to adapt to the different stages of its development.This requires that on the basis of changing the traditional development mode and coordinating the hierarchical training system,we should adhere to the idea of "people-oriented" to build a hierarchical training mode to meet the needs of teachers at different stages of development.Fifth,this paper discusses in detail the composition of the professional development of College PE teachers in China,including the standardization of professional development,the working characteristics and the quality requirements of professional development.Specifically,after thoroughly analyzing the professional standards of College PE teachers in China and the United States,this study clarifies the quality requirements of professional development from four aspects: ideological quality,physical and mental quality,knowledge structure and teaching ability by discussing the particularity,basic content and dimensions of professional development of University teachers.Sixthly,based on the discussion of the present situation,influencing factors,professional development stages and the content of professional development of College P.E.teachers,this study puts forward the path to realize the professional development of College P.E.teachers,namely,dividing the driving force of College P.E.teachers' professional development into five dimensions: problem-driven,goal-driven,responsibility-driven,innovation-driven and resource-driven,so as to construct the driving force of College P.E.teachers' professional development.A driving model of professional development from national policy to teachers' self-development,from outside to inside,from macro to micro is presented.This study especially emphasizes that the "independent-cooperative" professional growth model is the proper orientation and also an effective way of professional development of College PE teachers.Seventh,in order to make the driving force play a more effective role,effectively promote the formation of learning community and professional development of College PE teachers,we need to establish a comprehensive support system.The construction of this support system should adhere to the idea of expanding the support scope,strengthening the support intensity and purifying the support purity,and implement the construction principles of diversified and open support channels,rich and diverse support content,developing a strong support culture and improving the coordination mechanism.These ideas and principles are powerful weapons to ensure the sustainable development of teachers' professional development and the long-term operation of the professional development mechanism of College Physical Education teachers.Finally,from the perspective of professional development of College PE teachers,this paper makes a thorough analysis of Mr.John Ma's growth process and practical wisdom.It holds that Mr.John Ma's professional enthusiasm,sports spirit,professional knowledge of physical education and the courage to encourage scientific exercise based on his native land are the important reasons for his becoming an excellent PE teacher.Mr.John Ma's deeds show that College PE teachers need to establish firm professional beliefs,master solid professional competence,diligent reflection and constant pursuit of self-development,strict self-discipline and students' ability to grow together.Mr.John Ma's spirit reminds contemporary college physical education teachers to keep abreast of the times and become lifelong learning-oriented College teachers,and to deeply understand the value of sports and cultivate talents in the post-human era.To sum up,this study constructs a complete picture of the professional development of physical education teachers in contemporary colleges and universities in China through the analysis of the professional development of physical education teachers from multiple levels and perspectives.On the basis of in-depth discussion of the future value orientation of professional development from the present situation of professional development,this study deeply realized that only by establishing a multi-level guarantee mechanism,striving to create a sustainable dynamic development environment and improve the consciousness of teachers' professional development,can physical education teachers in colleges and universities achieve effective professional development.
