Abstract/Summary:
Popular business articles anecdotally describe the challenge of working with, managing, motivating, and training members of a multi-generational workforce. Work values are cited as the largest difference among the different generations. This study used quantitative measures to provide empirical data as to the magnitude and nature of these differences. Results indicate that although there are indeed differences in among the generations' work values, the claims in the popular literature may be overstated.
