Abstract/Summary:
Financial healthcare executives in the U.S. Air Force may not have the required competencies to effectively perform in the work environment. The lack of competencies could reduce the effectiveness of financial management and hinder accomplishment of organizational missions. The current research employed a modified Delphi approach, using an expert panel and a sample population, to validate the competencies that enable executives to optimize their competence, enhance their personal satisfaction, and achieve superior performance. The validated profile listed 58 competencies grouped within 15 domains and three performance levels. The profile establishes the foundation for executives' competence, leadership, and performance and emphasizes the need for leaders to define, measure, quantify, and standardize competencies and superior performance.
