Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this review is to ascertain evidence for a bioecosystemic model of talent detection and prediction in professional sport. The review focuses on three psychological factors: cognition, personality, and team fit. This approach was taken to develop a model that is multidimensional in nature and therefore may predict greater amounts of variance by taking into account the complexities of the factors underlying human behavior. Limitations and recommendations for future studies are discussed.
