A curriculum audit of a Master of Arts Theology Program

Abstract/Summary:
The objective of this study was to conduct a curriculum audit of the Master of Arts in Theology Program offered by Villanova University to assess the standards for controlling resources, personnel and programs; establishing valid and clear objectives for students, insuring comprehensive program documentation, effecting change based on the results of this study, and improving productivity, consistent with English (1988).;The methodology to collect and analyze data for Curriculum Audits was designed by English (1988). The results of this study indicated that the curriculum audit model developed by English (1988) is an appropriate model to use for a programmatic audit of an academic program in higher education. The primary recommendation is that the proposed partnership between the Master of Arts in Theology Program at Villanova University and the Permanent Diaconate Formation Program of the Diocese of Wilmington proceed.
