Abstract/Summary:
The research was conducted to analyze the expectations and satisfaction levels of parents with their children's taekwondo centers selected in Taejon City and Chung-Cheong Province, Republic of Korea (R.O.K.). The research utilized a modified questionnaire to evaluate service quality (SERVQUAL), developed by Parasuraman et al. (1988). The sample consisted of 562 parents from 420 selected taekwondo centers in Taejon City and Chung-Cheong Province, R.O.K. The researcher addressed three research questions: (1) identifying the parents' expectations of taekwondo centers; (2) the parents' satisfaction levels of taekwondo centers; and (3) determining the differences between the parent's expectations and satisfactions levels of taekwondo centers. The data were analyzed utilizing percentages, frequency distributions, means and factor analysis. For comparison of the data, a t-test was performed.;The findings of this study showed that most parents were not satisfied when comparing their satisfaction levels and the degree of need for the various programs provided by the taekwondo training centers. This study reveals satisfaction levels, identifies service and program, the desires and expectations of parents that are necessary to conduct successful South Korean taekwondo training centers. This study may be a valuable resource in helping to solve problems that many taekwondo centers face today.
