Abstract/Summary:
The current study is an examination of MMPI-A and demographic data as administered to a post-Soviet Russian adolescent population. These data were explored to discover whether certain factors had an effect, either protective or risk-related, on suicidal ideation among this population. Specifically, the data were examined to determine whether a certain category and occurrence of family organization, primary locus of control, or endorsement of religion had an effect on suicidal ideation. Using the complete MMPI-A test data and the Saba-Penn demographic data, the family organization of adolescents was explored, specifically the number of parents living in the home, to determine whether a risk factor was present. Protective factors such as primary locus of control and religion were also examined.
