Study On The Related Factors Of Suicidal Ideation In College Students Of Military Medical University

Objective To understand the suicidal ideation among college students of military medical university and its influence factors and to provide reasonable suggestion for improving health education and preventing suicide among college students.Methods By stratified cluster sampling,701 college students of military medical university were investigated with General Information Questionnaire,Symptom Checklist(SCL-90),Adolescent Self-Rating Life Events Check List(ASLEC) and Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS).The data were analyzed by SPSS(version 12.0 for windows) statistical package.Results 10.4%college students of military medical university reported suicidal ideation.Among college students who have suicidal ideation,9.2%have a plan and method,and 3.1%have an attempted suicide.General Information such as sex and family has no effect on suicidal ideation.Suicidal idea ratio of first-year students is higher than upperclassman(third-year,fourth-year and fifth-year students).Drinking and smoking also have no effect on suicidal ideation.Suicidal idea ratio of students who have good score is lower than those who have bad score.Score of negative life events in suicidal ideation group is higher than without suicidal ideation group. However,Score of social support in suicidal ideation group is lower than without suicidal ideation group.There is no difference of interpersonal sensitivity,hostile factor scores,horrible factor scores between suicidal ideation group and without suicidal ideation group,but Scores of body factor,forcing factor,blahs factor scores, anxiety factor,prejudice factor scores,psychopathy factor scores in suicidal ideation group is significantly higher than without suicidal ideation group.Multiple logistic regression analysis shows the major influence factors for suicidal ideation of military medical university are score,depression,life events and social support.Conclusions The major influence factors for suicidal ideation of military medical university are score,depression,life events and social support.Therefore,according to the influence factors of suicidal ideation,taking appropriate measures to prevent suicide among college students is an urgent task.
