The author examined the effectiveness of a group methodology of group psychotherapy formulated with theories from Yalom's interpersonal group psychotherapy and adult learning theory. Yalom's therapeutic factors were used as structure to enhance the understanding of a here-and-now interpersonal group process and to engage the group members in experiencing the benefits from being part of a group. Adult learning theory strategies and techniques were incorporated to assist the therapists' in the instruction, facilitation, and adaption of the interpersonal learning material to the target population.
