The purpose of this study was to analyze the internationalizing aspects of prominent national and international MBA programs to identify the curricula and activities that best prepare students for international business positions. Four groups of schools were chosen for this study. Data were collected from program catalogs, CIBER reports, and questionnaires. Analysis of variance and pairwise comparison were used to analyze and compare five factors: faculty, students, curricula, culture exposure, and organizational structure. The results indicate that European MBA schools are significantly stronger than other MBA programs in terms of internationalization implementation; U.S. international MBA schools are stronger than other U.S. MBA schools in their globalization emphasis; the Canadian MBA program has many characteristics of the stronger U.S. international programs; other foreign MBA schools should place more emphasis on internationalization. A list of international MBA program profile guidelines was prepared for schools to create or to improve their business programs. |
