Abstract/Summary:
This dissertation is about deciphering and analyzing the organizational culture of Saudi Arabia Marketing and Refining Company (SAMAREC). Divided into five chapters, it uses an organizational culture metaphor as a basic tool for the study.Chapter I presents the research design, the hypotheses that are being tested, and the research methodology and techniques used to collect and analyze the data.Chapter II discusses the most important literature in the field of organizational culture to provide the theoretical base for the research.Chapter III presents the Saudi Arabian cultural context. It briefly discusses Saudi Arabian geography, history, and culture, as well as its governmental structure, administration, political, and economic development. It also discusses the affect of the oil industry and the establishment of SAMAREC on the Saudi Arabian economy.Chapter IV presents the data analysis, explains and interprets the data tables and basic results of the study.Chapter V consists of three parts. Part One is a very brief summary of the past four chapters that were discussed in the dissertation. Part Two discusses the conclusion and implication of the study, and Part Three discusses recommendations for future studies.
