| A passionate heuristic study of embodied psychological resistance as perceived from the united perspectives of depth psychology and craniosacral therapy is a groundbreaking practice for the therapist patient relationship. As witness and guardian of psyche, these two therapies are on an insightful alchemical journey in which, the mysterious and unknown brings unique light that is visible through a primordial thought of considerations and ways of thinking that have existed since pre-historical times. Jung (1953/1966) states, "primordial images are the most ancient and the most universal 'thought-forms' of humanity" (p.66). He suggests a primitive, indigenous nature of being emerges through intimate images, stories or active imagination practices.;Freud (1900) states, "Whatever interrupts the progress of analytic work is a resistance" (p. 517). He advocates transference or resistance is a focus of attention for the therapist during the psychotherapy session. The resistance from a patient, either mental or physical gives light to primary controversies that are present. Personal investigations and explorations of images, symbols, myths and active imagination occurrences that wrestle to free embodied resistance will be at the heart of this investigation. Repressed emotion or embodied resistance dwells in the mind, the soul and in the tissue and viscera of the physical body, therefore, affecting one's emotional and physical wellbeing. A knowledge and awareness about how resistance lives within the tissue and viscera supports the totality attitude that encourages more compassion for others and a deeper self-knowing. I believe depth psychotherapy will enhance its communications with the unconscious by including a conversation with tissue and viscera of the physical and emotional body mind. |
