Abstract/Summary:
This quantitative study explored business leaders' agreement on educational technology standards applied to continuous improvement, development of leadership, and sustainability. The conceptual framework was grounded in the National Educational Technology Standards for Administrators (NETS-A) for digital-age learning, technology implementation, and transforming instruction in school districts. This study used one data source: a quantitative survey of 48 leaders at one global company based in southeastern Wisconsin. The data provided evidence of the usefulness of using NETS-A for education leaders to analyze growth, continuous improvement, leadership development, and sustainability. According to results from an online survey, leaders agreed that they used NETS-A to facilitate technology integration in their business organization. Thus, this study concluded that educational and business sectors can exchange technology guidelines to improve technology integration. In addition, this study found that female leaders were more likely to agree to use technology to evaluate administration, use technology to manage operations, widely communicate technology vision, advocate effective practices, to maintain awareness of technology, develop guidelines for technology, and assess staff skills. Moreover, leaders with more years of experience were more likely to agree that they maintained inclusive processes to develop a systemic technology plan to achieve the vision, identify appropriate technology, evaluate appropriate technology, promote appropriate technology, and maintained awareness of emerging technology and its potential uses.
