Reflection cracking of semi-rigid base asphalt pavement is one of the main types of early damage of asphalt pavement in China’s highways,and the existence of cracks destroys the integrity and continuity of the pavement structure,which seriously affects the service life of the pavement and traffic safety.In order to prevent reflection cracks,during the construction of asphalt pavement,geotextiles,glass fiber grids and special waterproofing membranes are usually laid between the base layer and the surface layer as an anti-reflection layer,or set up stress absorption layer,crack buffer layer and other measures to prevent reflection cracks or delay the expansion of reflection cracks.In the commonly used geosynthetic materials to prevent and control reflection cracks,polyester glass fiber cloth has good interlayer crack resistance.However,there are few studies on the road performance and interlayer crack resistance mechanism of asphalt concrete with polyester fiberglass fabric at home and abroad.Based on this,this study mainly investigates the mechanism of interlayer cracking resistance and road performance of polyester fiberglass fabric.It mainly contains the following parts.(1)Asphalt infiltrated polyester fiberglass fabric was used to form polyester fiberglass fabric-asphalt composite,and the tensile strength and shear resistance of the polymer were analyzed by indoor tests.The results show that the polyester fiberglass fabric-asphalt composite has higher shear deformation resistance and good high temperature stability compared with the polyester fiberglass fabric.(2)The polyester fiberglass fabric was laid between different asphalt concrete to form different asphalt mixture + polyester fiberglass fabric compositions,and the road performance of the compositions was analyzed to study the improvement effect of polyester fiberglass fabric on the road performance of asphalt concrete.The results showed that the rutting depth of asphalt concrete decreased significantly,the bottom bending and tensile strain decreased,and the fatigue life increased after the addition of polyester fiberglass fabric.Moreover,under the standard water pressure,the water penetration is less and the water sealing performance is better.It indicates that the incorporation of polyester fiberglass fabric can effectively improve the road performance of asphalt mixes.(3)The bonding performance of polyester fiberglass fabric on semi-rigid substrate and cement concrete slab was investigated by using indoor interlayer composite shear test.The bonding performance of polyester fiberglass fabric-asphalt was also studied in combination with the surface free energy test,and the adhesion work between different asphalts and polyester fiberglass fabric was investigated.The research results show that:the selection of SBS modified asphalt as the adhesive layer oil of polyester fiberglass fabric composite effectively improves the shear strength of polyester fiberglass fabric and different interlayer structures by more than 20%;comparing the connection performance of two materials,waterproofing membrane and geogrid,it is found that the bond between polyester fiberglass fabric and pavement structure layer is better and its composite interlayer durability is stronger;meanwhile the surface chemical composition,structure The surface chemical composition,structure and properties of polyester fiberglass fabric have a great impact on the performance of the composite material,and to improve the bond strength between asphalt and polyester fiberglass fabric,the surface chemical treatment of the fiber surface can be used to improve the performance of asphalt pavement.(4)The durability of the polyester fiberglass fabric composite interlayer was analyzed using finite element and indoor test simulations.According to theoretical model calculations and indoor experimental studies,the installation of composite interlayer can delay the further expansion of reflection cracks and effectively improve the service life of the asphalt surface layer.Within a certain thickness of the asphalt layer,increasing the thickness will accelerate the development of bending and pulling type reflection cracks,but can inhibit the development of shear type reflection cracks.If more than a certain thickness,increasing the thickness of the asphalt layer has less effect on inhibiting the development of cracks.(5)Combined with the test road situation and field experimental results,the construction process and quality control measures of polyester fiberglass fabric in asphalt pavement are proposed,and its cracking resistance performance is evaluated and analyzed,and the above results show that the polyester fiberglass fabric composite has good bonding and long-term cracking resistance.
