In the investigation of the development of children's literature in China for more than a century,1949 is an important time node.Over the past 70 years,the Chinese children's literature community has translated foreign children's literary theories and works on the one hand,and constructed and created local children's literary theories and works on the other hand.In the process of mutual learning and mutual promotion,with several generations making efforts,we have embarked on a Chinese path for the development of children's literature.This paper mainly adopts the research method of reception and influence in the comparative literature to discuss translation and influence of foreign children's literature theory in China since 1949.The paper empirically describes this process,specifically presenting results of translation and its relationship with the construction of Chinese children's literature theory and the creation of works.Based on this,it explores the value and meaning of foreign children's literature theory translation to the development of Chinese children's literature,revealing the historical experience that deserves attention.This paper is divided into seven parts:Introduction: Contents briefly described include reason and significance of the subject,current status,basic ideas and methods of the study;history of translation in the foreign children's literature theory since the May 4th Movement.Chapter 1: Comments are made on translation and influence of foreign children's literature theory in China during the Seventeen Years and the Ten Years of Cultural Revolution.Contents include the following four aspects: First,an overview of translation and dissemination of foreign children's literature theory during the Seventeen Years;second,a discussion of external influence on Chinese children's literature theory during the period of Seventeen Years by taking Chen Bochui,a critic and writer of children's literature,as an example;third,combination of the children's literature works at that time to specifically show the performance of external influence in children's literature creation,and in-depth discussion by taking as an example the creations of children's literature writers Zhang Tianyi,Yan Wenjing,and Sun Youjun who had great influence during this period;fourth,exploring and revealing the basic characteristics of Chinese children's literature theory and creation during the Ten Years of Cultural Revolution by taking several children's novels as samples.Chapter 2: Comments are made on translation and influence of foreign children's literature theory in China from 1976 to 1980.Contents include the following three aspects: First,an overview of translation and dissemination of foreign children's literature theory from 1976 to 1980;second,external influence on Chinese children's literature theory from 1976 to 1980;third,the discussion on external influence on Chinese children's literature creation from 1976 to 1980 by taking science fiction writers Zheng Wenguang and Ye Yonglie as examples.Chapter 3: Comments are made on translation and influence of foreign children's literature theory in China from 1981 to 1989.There are three main issues to be discussed: First,an overview of translation and dissemination of foreign children's literature theory during 1981-1989;second,taking Lu Bing,Hu Congjing,Hong Xuntao and Wang Quangen who are two generations of scholars as examples to discuss the external influence on Chinese children's literature theory from 1981 to 1989;third,taking the works of Zheng Yuanjie,Zhou Rui,Bing Bo,Ke Yan,and Shen Shixi so forth who are representative children's literature writers of this period,as examples to discuss the external influence on Chinese children's literature during 1981-1989.Chapter 4: Comments are made on translation and influence of foreign children's literary theory in China from 1990 to 1999.Contents mainly include the following three aspects: First,an overview of the translation and dissemination of foreign children's literature theory from 1990 to 1999;second,taking seven young scholars such as Tang Rui,Sun Jian Jiang,Wang Quangen,Fang Weiping,Zhu Ziqiang,Liu Xuyuan,and Peng Yi as examples to discuss external influence on Chinese children's literature theory from 1990 to 1999;discussion of external influences on Chinese children's literature creation from 1990 to 1999 by taking Sun Youjun,Qin Wenjun,Cao Wenxuan,Mei Zihan,Tang Sulan,Chen Danyan,Peng Yi and Yang Hongying who are two generations of Children's literature writers as examples.Chapter 5: This chapter,whose study content is translation and influence of foreign picture book theory in China since the new century,is divided into three aspects: First,taking the picture book theory of Japanese picture book theorist,editor and publisher Mr.Tadashi Matsui as an example to briefly expound the translation and dissemination process of this picture book theory in China;second,discussing the influence of the Japanese picture book theory,represented by Mr.Tadashi Matsui,on China from the aspects such as acceptance by scholars,reflection in children's literature textbooks,and development of original picture books and monthly magazines;third,taking the books that won the First Feng Zikai Children's Picture Book Award as an example to analyze the current status of the development of Chinese original picture books and look forward to its future trends.Conclusion: After reviewing translation and influence of foreign children's literature theory in China for 70 years,this paper analyzes and explores the value and meaning of translation and influence on the development of Chinese children's literature and gives prospects of the development of Chinese children's literature.In short,after the founding of the People's Republic of China,the comprehensive translation and influence of children's literature theory from the Soviet Union led to structural changes in Chinese children's literature,promoted the development of Chinese children's literature in the twentieth century,and thus changed the landscape in Chinese children's literature.Since the reform and opening up,the translation of foreign children's literature theories has provided an unprecedented opportunity for the development of Chinese children's literature;the reference and influence of foreign children's literature theory have made the construction of Chinese children's literature theory and the creation of children's literature works show diversity and richness,and made Chinese children's literature show its uniqueness in the gorgeous world children's literature map.Thus,the investigation on translation and influence of foreign children's literature theory since 1949 will help us understand the ins and outs of the development of Chinese children's literature,help us judge the characteristics and significance of Chinese children's literature,and help us summarize historical experience,promoting the development of Chinese children's literature.
