Military activity,as an interactive mode, plays a vital role in human evolution historically.Based on military activities, this paper mainly addresses the issue of foreign communication and its interaction on local regimes in different areas in the Northeast of China, during the Han-Tang period.Hopefully, this paper, from the overall perspective of East Asia, could offer us a profound insight and detailed analysis of the political evolution in Northeast China as well as the historical track of the unified multi-ethnic state. The Northeast, the South of central China, and the West plateau region of Mongolia, following the step of historical development, are closely connected. Therefore,to figure out the historical evolution in the Northeast and regions nearby clearly and comprehensively, the overall perspective and interactive perspective related to various regions are of great necessity.Taking military activity and its interaction as the starting point, this paper interprets the formation, development, and evolution of the Northeast local regimes from the Han to the Tang Dynasty under the historical background of the political evolution in Northeast Asia and East Asia.To further clarify the role and significance of the Northeast region in the formation of the unified multi-ethnic state, this paper can be arranged as follows:First, the Northeast operation and the surrounding political situation of the Han DynastyIn this part,it mainly discusses the military conflict with Hun and its influence on the Northeast region after the establishment of the Han Dynasty. To cope with the threat of Hun,the Han Dynasty adopted the strategy of “a military crackdown against Hun's movement” to combat the ethnic minorities in the North. In the Northeast, the political situation could be stabilized through subduing ancient Korea and conducting business activities in Lelang and other counties, which inhibits the development of the Northern Hun as well.Second, the rise of Koguryo: the Northeast and the surrounding period of the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern DynastiesThis part mainly discusses the changes of local regimes in the Northeast, especially the formation and development of Koguryo, and the interaction and evolution of the Central Plains Dynasty and its surrounding minority regimes.Severalissues are addressed, namely “Jiao Shiyi issue”,“Cui Li's Lelang Kingdom”,“Guan Qiujian attacking Koguryo”,“Stone Tablet of Ran Mu” and “Stone Tablet of King Haotai” and so on.Third, the East Expedition in Sui and Tang period and the changes of local regimes in the Northeast This part mainly explores the influence of the decline of the former Turkic on the political pattern in Northeast China, analyzes the military activities between the Sui,and the Tang Dynasty and Koguryo, and also discusses its historical process of development as well as destruction, after discovering the multiparty political game, the basic military conflict, and the historical trace of the political order and pattern in Northeast Asia under the complex international political pattern.
