A Study Of Chinese Couplets In Vietnamese Temples

Couplets,a short and vigorous style,are popular among the people in China and Vietnam,which is deeply influenced by Chinese culture.In China,couplets have gone deep into thousands of families and all walks of life.A large number of couplets created in previous dynasties have been preserved and become valuable cultural resources.Due to the influence of Chinese couplet culture,Vietnam has always had the custom of creating couplets,so Vietnam also retains a large number of Chinese couplets.These Chinese couplets are an important part of traditional Vietnamese culture,especially the Chinese couplets that can be seen everywhere in Vietnamese temples.This study is based on some previous research results,further investigation and collation of Vietnamese couplets,hoping to help better understand the couplet culture of China and Vietnam,and make some contributions to the cultural exchanges between China and Vietnam.This paper consists of eight parts.The first part is introduction.This paper introduces the origin of this study,the research status of Sino Vietnamese couplets,as well as the research methods,research value and other issues.The second part is an overview of Chinese and Vietnamese couplets,respectively introduces the concept,name,development,classification and other basic issues of Chinese and Vietnamese couplets.The third part is to compare the rules of Chinese character couplets in Chinese and Vietnamese temples.From the perspective of comparative study,this paper explores the similarities and differences of Chinese and Vietnamese Temple couplets from the aspects of antithesis,tonal,rhetoric,source and posting.The fourth part mainly discusses the function of Vietnamese Chinese character couplets,including cognitive function,educational function,aesthetic function,decoration and beautification function.The fifth part is the cultural reflection of Chinese character couplets in Vietnamese temples,mainly exploring the cultural connotation behind Chinese character couplets in Vietnamese temples.The sixth part is the research of variant characters in Chinese couplets of Vietnamese temples,which summarizes a large number of variant characters in Chinese couplets of Vietnamese temples,and provides some information for the research of Chinese folk characters and variant characters.The seventh part is the compilation of Chinese characters couplets in Hanoi,Vietnam.The eighth part of the conclusion points out the importance of couplets in the culture of China and Vietnam,and hopes that this cultural heritage can continue to be preserved and continued in China and Vietnam.
