Since the 1990 s,video art has entered large art galleries,museums and other art Spaces,and become the object of display,research and collection in the context of contemporary art.Not only has the classical video art injected the film method,the film and the contemporary art also has the frequent blending tendency,has surpassed the film and the plastic art,director and artist,cinema and art gallery to separate the image genealogy.Compared with the narrative works which depend on the plot of the story,these images show the stylistic characteristics of “textualization”.The diversified logic makes the production of meaning in the text space appear heterogeneous,dynamic and spatial.This also makes it impossible for such images to be included in the inherent image research framework to some extent.This paper attempts to study the text generation of such images from the perspective of "sub-narrative"."Interwoven text" is a textual feature of the post-structuralist view of text,and “ text”is understood as a field of meaning weaving and production.This paper will conduct a special study of "sub-narrative" images in contemporary art from the perspective of textual view,which will bring several new ideas to the study: Firstly,there is an isomorphic relationship between "sub-narrative" discourse and image text generation.The texture of the narrative mode makes the signifying elements weave into each other in the textual structure,Therefore,"sub-narrative" refers to "textual" signifyinh practice,which is different from "narrative" signifyinh practice.;Secondly,the "sub-narrative" image has the characteristics of both "narrative and non-narrative".The anti-" story" logic forms this pole of " non-narrative ",while the narrative "discourse" forms this pole of "narrative";Finally,"sub-narrative" is a triple contradiction of causality,time sequence and inertial cognition,which forms the heterogeneity of narrative logic,dissolves the perceptual mechanism that mirrors the daily reality,and forms a cognitive system that needs to be deliberately recognized.To be specific,this paper first traces the source of dynamic image in contemporary art and combs the linear relationship between contemporary moving image art and video art in art history.Then,based on the text view of post-structuralism,this paper compares two different ways of image ideograph practice: narrative and textual,and puts forward the concept of "sub-narrative" from the perspective of textual ideograph practice.Next,the triple texture forms of "sub-narrative" are discussed in a parallel structure.They are respectively the text generation inside the image,which reflects the "non-narrative" pole of "sub-narrative" based on the story level.The narrative suggestion inside the image explains how the "emotional production" and "pure description" present the narrative suggestion under the film experience,which reflects the "narrative" pole of "non-narrative" in the discourse level.As well as the text generation outside the image,it focuses on the discussion of the media denotation in the "sub-narrative" image,revealing the nature that the form of spatial narration in the image is greater than the form of time narration,and discussing the nomadic and open experience of watching the film in the museum.
