The dissertation is based on the 20 th century,the first important modern music school,expressionism,represented by three important composers(Schoenberg,Webern,Berg)orchestral works as the research object,from orchestration theories and techniques as the main entry point in writing,and with orchestration of multiple techniques of dimension are studied comprehensively and systematically.The scope of research involved includes the following three aspects: First,it is based on different aspects of orchestration techniques,that is,it not only includes the typical characteristics embodied in different techniques of instrumentation,but also focuses on the selfcontained timbre,texture and sound,and its structural logic in the crisscross combination process of orchestration;Second,the “commonness” characteristic of inheritance and innovation in orchestration style of orchestral works of expressionism is presented,and the “individuality”characteristic of different composers in this period is sorted out and summarized.Thirdly,it discriminates and summarizes the acoustic aesthetics reflected by the orchestral language of expressionism.The dissertation is divided into six parts.The introduction describes the research significance and purpose,the research status and research methods at home and abroad.The first chapter mainly discusses the origin of expressionism in music,and summarizes the life and creation of the representative composers.The second chapter mainly discusses the concept of timbre and texture thinking of expressionism.The third chapter mainly focuses on the analysis of all aspects of orchestration techniques,and summarizes and analyzes the orchestration techniques of expressionism from the aspects of texture structure and form,timbre processing technology,and orchestration layout.The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the orchestral orchestration styles of expressionism schools;The conclusion summarizes the overall characteristics and orchestration thinking of the expressionist school,and expounds the overall influence of the expressionist school's orchestration principle on the orchestral writing of the later modern music schools in the 20 th century.
