A Study Of The Orchestration Of Lautavala's Eighth Symphony "Journey"

This paper takes Rautavaara's Symphony No.8 The Journey as the main research object.First it introduces the development of Finnish symphonic music,Rautavaara's compositional process and the evolution of his symphonic styles.And it makes a brief analysis of its composing techniques,such as the pitch structure and the musical form.Then,this paper makes a comprehensive analysis on the linear texture and the harmony texture orchestration,the technique of part writing,the orchestrating technique and timber layout.
