New Media And Transformation Of The Life Style Of The Aged People In Shanghai

As the diffusion of PC and Mobile phone among the aged people in Shanghai City,they play more and more important roles in the aged people's daily lives.This project is a research on the effect of new media.Taking the aged people in Shanghai as the research object,this dissertation discusses the transformation of the lifestyle of the aged people in Shanghai after the use of new media.Through this research,I hope to enrich the domestic new media effect research,and find the possible answer for the aged people how to survive better in the information age.Based on the research object of the aged people,this project will divide the "lifestyle" into three dimensions: family lifestyle,leisure lifestyle and social adaptation.And the dissertation will be carried out from five parts: the first part,a brief review of the diffusion and use of new media among the aged people in Shanghai.The second part,the use of new media and the transformation of family life style of the aged people in Shanghai.The third part,the use of new media and the transformation of leisure lifestyle of the aged people in Shanghai.The fourth part is the impact of new media on the social adaptation of aged people in Shanghai.The fifth part is the summary and prospect,a forecast on the future development of new media technology and the future of aged people lifestyle in Shanghai In the research paradigm,the dissertation wants to break through the limitations of technological determinism and situational determinism.In terms of research methods,this paper will make a comprehensive analysis from the perspective of communication,sociology,psychology and other disciplines,combining qualitative and quantitative analysis,using questionnaire survey,statistical analysis,case study,focus group,participatory observation,correlation analysis,ANOVA,linear regression and other methods.This dissertation takes the individualization theory as the analysis angle to explore the influence of new media on the "individualized" transformation of lifestyle of the aged people in Shanghai,and found that: "individualized" lifestyle has been formed in the the aged people.After retirement,the aged people withdraw from the work units,organizations,facing the heavy burden of social pension and the limited resources provided by families,they begin to walk on the way of "individualization",and play the subjective role in their life,which leads them to the transformation of the of lifestyle,from the way we originally understood to the present "individualization" life style.In the process of the "individualization" of the aged people,the government,society,family and other institutions have also provided corresponding resources and help to them,but these may not be enough.At the same time,the aged people began to use new media to help them better adapt to the "individualization" lifestyle and improve their social adaptability.The new media gives them the right to choose,helps them rely more on themselves to complete a lot of work,and helps them find a belief in themselves.This may be a special "individualization" way of the aged people in Shanghai,where media technology plays a key role.
