Research On The Cultivation Of College Students’ Constitutional Consciousness

Constitution is the fundamental law of the country.The realization of the goal of comprehensively governing the country by law requires that our citizens have a good sense of the rule of law,especially the constitutional consciousness.As a youth group with high cultural literacy in China,college students are the backbone of China’s future building of a socialist country ruled by law,and it is also an important force to learn,popularize,abide by and maintain the Constitution.The constitutional consciousness of college students is the most important legal consciousness of college students,and it is the cornerstone of college students’ consciousness of the rule of law,reflecting the basic views and attitudes of college students on constitutional phenomena.The constitutional consciousness of college students includes the mastery of the constitutional knowledge and basic principles,the understanding of the constitutional function,the evaluation of the constitutional implementation,the feelings of the protection and exercise of basic rights,and the desire and practice of the rule by constitution.The paper clarifies the relationship between constitutional consciousness and legal consciousness,constitutional consciousness and citizen consciousness,constitutional consciousness and constitutional thinking,constitutional consciousness and constitutional belief.The paper analyzes the horizontal structure of constitutional consciousness,including constitutional knowledge,constitutional ideal,constitutional sentiment,constitutional will,constitutional evaluation and constitutional belief.Combining the theory of the rule of law of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era,the paprer proposes the basic content of the constitutional consciousness of Chinese citizens,including the constitutional supremacy,the party’s overall leadership consciousness,the basic rights consciousness,and the power supervision consciousness,abiding rule consciousness.The paper investigates the current situation of college students’ constitution consciousness and its cultivation.Based on the statistical analysis of the questionnaire,it is found that the main problems of college ctudents’ constitutional consciousness are as follows:the consciousness of constitution supremacy has not yet been formed,the attention to constitutional cases is low,the consciousness of basic rights needs to be strengthened,and the consciousness of power supervision needs to be improved.The paper analyzes the subjective and objective reasons for the problems of college ctudents’ constitutional consciousness,and finds that the objective reasons for the problems are mainly based on China’s economic development level,the influence of feudal traditional culture and the social factors that the constitution has not been fully implemented;the lack of awareness of the importance of constitutional education,the lack of resources of the principal tutor,and the lack of influence of school factors to form a joint force of cultivation;influenced by utilitarianism and limited by their own knowledge of constitution and law,parents are influenced by family factors to some extent in the aspects of parenting style and role model.It is found that the subjective factors that affect college students’ constitutional consciousness are mainly the lack of experience in constitutional social practice,the undeveloped world outlook,outlook on life and values,the low ability of cognition and analysis,and the lack of subjective initiative in learning and thinking.The paper holds that the cultivation of college students’ constitutional consciousness shall adhere to the theoretical achievements of Marxism Leninism and Sinicization of Marxism as the guiding ideology,center on the fundamental task of cultivating morality and cultivating people,take promoting the improvement of college students’ constitutional consciousness as the goal,follow the laws of education,ideological and political work,and college students’ growth,and adopt a variety of ways and methods to carry out the cultivation process.The paper defines the objectives and principles of the cultivation of college students’constitutional consciousness.The paper emphasizes that the cultivation of college students’ constitutional consciousness should be strengthened by four ways such as optimizing social environment,strengthening school education,attaching importance to family education and strengthening self-education.
