The Effect Of Event Involvement And Psychic Income On Local Community's Supporting Intention Toward Hallmark Events Hosting

With the rapid development of China's economy and the renewal of people's concept of sports health,large-scale sports events have gradually become an important part of people's spiritual and cultural life.Sports events have a profound and comprehensive impact on the host city,among which the social impact has attracted the attention of scholars because of its long-term effect on the social culture,social psychology,social politics and other aspects of the city.As the main social activity subjects of sports events,the residents of the host area play a key role in the organization and management of sports events.Their attitude is an important evaluation index showing of the social influence of sports events,and is also one of the core conditions for the sustainable and healthy development of sports eventsIt is found that residents' attitudes towards sports events were affected by many variables.As an expression of the residents' psychological emotions,the psychic income of the event mainly describes the residents' positive psychological perception as well as positive emotion acquisition of the event,which has gradually attracted the attention of scholars.Despite the growing efforts to examine the psychic income in sports events hosting,there is still a lack of literature and understanding pertaining to the mechanisms behind the psychic income effect.Some scholars proposed that involvement might be an important factor affecting the perceived psychic income and make a difference,However,the role and its mechanism in terms of the involvement on psychic income requires further theoretical discussions and empirical verification.Given the above background,this paper attempts to start from the perspective of residents in the host areas,take the brand events as the research object,explore the actual experience of residents' psychic income and examine the social impact of sports events from the internal micro perspective,namely,the perspective of psychological perception,so as to find out the specific path and mechanism of the formation of residents' supporting attitude towards the events.Main research contents are as follows: psychic income scale development;research on the relationship between psychic income and involvement;a theoretical study on residents' support attitude towards sports events;analyze the relationship between involvement,psychic income,and support intention of local residents.The research results suggest that:Individuals' attitudes toward sports events were composed and influenced by three components: involvement,psychic income,and supporting intention.Individual involvement had a significant positive effect on psychic income of games.Psychic income had a significant positive effect on event support intention.The involvement level did not affect the supporting willingness directly,but affected the supporting willingness through the transmission of psychic income.Psychic income was completely mediated between involvement degree and supportive attitude.Meanwhile,the data results also indicate that some demographic variables are significantly different in the influencing pathways of involvement degree,psychic income and degree of support.Therefore,it is suggested that all parties involved in the event should pay full attention to the interests of local residents,take meeting the needs of residents as the starting point,expand and enrich the content of the event,and accumulate the event culture.It is necessary to increase residents' involvement in the event in a diversified,multi-level and multi-channel way to stimulate residents' enthusiasm for participation.It is important to enhance residents' “feels-good” psychological feelings such as happiness and pride from the event,raise residents' psychic income from the event,and encourage residents to form a supportive attitude.
