The revitalization of football is an inevitable requirement for building sports power and an essential part of realizing the Chinese dream. In recent years, although the development of Chinese football has made some progress, there is still a big gap between building a football power. The proposal of "Football starts from the baby" and the vigorous development of youth training institutions in various places highlight the determination to strengthen football development at the national level and demonstrate the importance of cultivating football talent reserves. However, with the rapid development of football youth training,a series of problems cannot be ignored, especially the education and management of youth football players, which are inseparable from their coaches' leadership style. In football youth training, coaches play an important and unique role. They are not only educators and leaders, because they get along with youth football players day and night, they also assume parents' role.Simultaneously, through field research and in-depth interviews,it is found that paternalistic leadership is also a commonly adopted leadership method in the training process of youth Chinese football players.Through literature review,it is found that paternalistic leadership's influence on the behavior of subordinates has not reached a consensus. Moreover,a large number of studies are aimed at adult groups and corporate organizational situations.Whether it can be used to guide youth football players with rapid physical and mental changes remains to be seen.Continue to study.Given this, this article is based on positive organizational behavior theory, integrating social cognition theory,goal-setting theory, and cognitive development theory, and explores the influence mechanism of different dimensions of paternalistic leadership on youth behavior football players.Firstly, apply bibliometric software Hiscite and Citespace to conduct a literature analysis on paternalistic leadership and youth football player behavior.Secondly, based on literature review and in-depth interviews, conduct theoretical model derivation, taking "paternalistic leadership?trust in coach?behavior" as the idea to construct a 211cross-layer low-level mediation model, and build a 221 cross-layer high-level mediation model based on the idea of "paternalistic leadership?team cohesion?behavior".More than2,000 questionnaires were distributed among youth football players aged 13-18,such as Chinese A and B,and a total of 758 valid sample data from 57 teams were obtained. Finally, reliability and validity analysis,ICC and Rwg analysis,SPSS,HLM,R,Num XL,and optimization algorithm were used to complete the hypothesis test and get the following conclusions:First, the moral dimension of coaches' paternalistic leadership has a significant positive impact on youth football players' behavior. The behavior of youth football players is more likely to be inspired by moral leadership. In the leadership of coaches, the personal qualities of fairness and peace, impartiality, and being a model demonstrated by coaches can positively impact youth football players' behaviors that are beneficial to individuals and organizations.Second, trust in coaches and team cohesion play a mediation role between paternalistic leadership and youth football players' behavior. At the individual level, coaches' authoritarian leadership and moral leadership affect youth football players' behavior by acting on the trust of youth people in coaches;at the team level, the moral leadership of coaches affects youth football players by acting on team cohesion.Third, goal clarity plays a moderation role between trusting coaches and the behavior of youth football players. If the goal clarity of youth football players is higher, authoritarian leadership's negative influence on their behavior can be reduced, and the positive influence of moral leadership on their behavior can be enhanced.Fourth, the different dimensions of coaches' paternalistic leadership have different influences on youth football players of different ages.Comparing the age groups of 13-15 and16-18,moral leadership has a relatively stable positive influence on youth football players' behavior;benevolent leadership has a significant positive effect on the behavior of youth football players aged 13-15.The impact is not significant in the 16-18 age group;authoritarian leadership is not significant in the two age groups. The main contributions and innovations of this research include:(1)Deepen and integrate the theory of paternalistic leadership.Based on the perspective of positive organizational behavior theory, this research integrates social cognitive theory,goal-setting theory, and cognitive development theory, constructs a theoretical model suitable for adolescent athletes, and tries to embed paternalistic leadership in a multidimensional model of coaching leadership. It is helpful to expand the research of paternalistic leadership theory in the field of coaching leadership.(2)Conducted cross-disciplinary research on management science and physical education. In the past, most research on the relationship between coaches and youth football players focused on physical education and received less attention from the field of management. This research builds a bridge between the two, especially applying the theory of positive organizational behavior to behavioral research of youth football players, which will enrich the results of interdisciplinary theoretical research on leadership and behavior research.(3)From the perspective of coaches' influence on youth football players' behavior,it is innovative to study how to improve the level of football youth training.Previous studies on youth training primarily focused on policy factors, hardware construction, conceptual changes, and less on the influence of coaches' leadership on youth football players' behavior. As a systematic project to improve the level of football youth training,it is necessary to pay more attention to studying the behavior and influence of the core people.(4)Enriched the theoretical system of the localization research of Chinese youth football training. Most of the existing research on football youth training draws on the practical results of developed countries in football. This research focuses on the key issues of local youth training and studies the influence mechanism of coaches on the behavior of youth football players.Through the comparative analysis of two different age groups,it is concluded that there are significant differences in the influence of three different paternalistic leadership styles on the behavior of different age groups. This research strives to incorporate multi-dimensional and dynamic perspectives, strives to tell the story of Chinese football, and hopes to promote localized theoretical innovation of football youth training, and hopes to contribute to the development of Chinese football.
