The Intermediary Role Of Goal Orientation Between Coaches' Leadership Behavior And Junior Middle School Men's Football Players' Training And Competition Satisfaction

With the continuous improvement of the scientific level of sports training in China,coaches pay more and more attention to the differences between athletes' psychological quality,and take psychological skills as an important part of training.Junior middle school athletes are in a sensitive period of physical and mental development.Training and competition are more vulnerable to the interference of psychological factors and affect their sports performance.Therefore,there is an urgent need for realistic and targeted psychological skill training.In sports situations,goal orientation is an important psychological skill.Correct and reasonable goal orientation has an important impact on improving athletes' psychological quality.Goal orientation can not only be affected by coaches' leadership behavior,but also affect athletes' training and competition satisfaction.Goal orientation plays a connecting role between the two variables.In view of this,this study takes the intermediary role of goal orientation between coaches' leadership behavior and athletes' training and competition satisfaction as the research object.Using coaches' leadership behavior scale,task orientation and self orientation scale in sports and athletes' training and Competition Satisfaction Scale,this paper conducted a questionnaire survey on 228 men's football players participating in Dalian junior middle school campus Football League in 2021.This paper discusses the relationship and internal mechanism between coaches' leadership behavior and athletes' training and Competition Satisfaction,and focuses on the intermediary role of goal orientation between them.After data collection and processing,this study draws the following conclusions:(1)The goal orientation of junior middle school male football players is at the upper middle level,in which the score of task goal orientation is higher than that of self goal orientation.There is no significant difference between athletes' grade,training years,main force and goal orientation.(2)Coaches' leadership behavior is significantly positively correlated with goal orientation,and significantly positively predicts goal orientation.Among them,Democratic leadership behavior significantly positively predicts task goal orientation,and autocratic leadership behavior significantly positively predicts self goal orientation.(3)Goal orientation is significantly positively correlated with athletes' training and Competition Satisfaction,and significantly positively predicts athletes' training and competition satisfaction.(4)Coaches' leadership behavior is significantly positively correlated with athletes' training and Competition Satisfaction,and significantly positively predicts athletes' training and competition satisfaction.(5)Goal orientation plays a partial intermediary role between coaches' leadership behavior and athletes' training and Competition Satisfaction,that is,coaches' leadership behavior can not only directly affect athletes' training and Competition Satisfaction,but also affect athletes' training and competition satisfaction through the indirect effect of goal orientation.In the sub dimension,self goal orientation plays a partial intermediary role between autocratic leadership behavior and athletes' training and Competition Satisfaction,and task goal orientation plays a partial intermediary role between Democratic leadership behavior and athletes' training and competition satisfaction.
