The belief in the rule of law among college students affects the level of belief in the rule of law as a whole.Therefore,cultivating the belief in the rule of law of college students is the need for our universities and colleges to carry out the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and to comprehensively accelerate the strategy of law-based governance in the new era,which is at the same time the inherent requirements to modernize the national governance system and governance capability.To promote the cultivation of college students' belief in the rule of law,it is necessary to grasp its influencing factors and to further explore its main path on the basis of a profound understanding of the connotation of belief in the rule of law.Firstly,understanding the connotation of college students' belief in the rule of law is the premise of promoting the cultivation of college students' belief in the rule of law.College students' belief in the rule of law refers to the spontaneous formation of high recognition and expectation to the rule of law on the basis of rational and scientific recognition.It is the rules and guidelines for college students conscientiously to practice the ideal of rule of law in their daily study and life,to uphold the authority and dignity of the law.On this basis,it is also the rules and guidelines for them to spend their current campus life and to enter society in the future.There are four key elements for the belief in the rule of law of college students,named the cognition,awareness,capacity and emotion of the rule of law.Among these elements of the rule of law,the cognition is the foundation as the realization must rely on certain rule of law knowledge.The awareness is the core,which is the legal thinking and legal identity based on the rule of law cognition.The capacity is the key and the external expression of belief in the rule of law,which may reflects directly the practical effect of college students' applying knowledge to practice.The emotion is a destination and the inner experience of belief in the rule of law,which reflects the absolute trust,attachment and loyalty to the rule of law.Next,to grasp the influencing factors of college students' belief in the rule of law is the basis of promoting the cultivation of college students' belief in the rule of law.The cultivation of college students' belief in rule of law is influenced by many factors,such as economic and social development,rule of law education in colleges and universities,students' own quality and rule of law system.Among these influencing factors,the economic and social development,such as traditional governance concept and modern rule of law culture,social and political ecology and market economic system,social leading value and realistic rule of law atmosphere,are the most important external environment for the cultivation of college students' belief in rule of law;the teaching organization,the level of teachers,the content and methods of teaching,and the guarantee mechanism of education of the rule of law education in colleges and universities are the direct factors that affect the cultivation of college students' belief in the rule of law;while college students' own accomplishment,including cognitive ability,moral accomplishment,mental health,learning motivation,etc.,is an inherent factor in the cultivation of belief in the rule of law;the content of legal system and the quality of law application indirectly affect the cultivation of college students' belief in the rule of law from the perspective of legal identity and belonging,as well as legal authority and loyalty.Finally,the key element to optimize college students' belief in the rule of law is the path of promoting the cultivation of college students' belief in the rule of law.Based on the influencing factors of the cultivation of the belief in the rule of law,the promotion of the cultivation of the belief in the rule of law of college students should start from the optimization of three key elements,that is,the self-education of college students,the education of the rule of law in colleges and the construction of the external conditions of the belief in the rule of law,and then to explore the cultivation path of the belief in the rule of law.Strengthening the education of the rule of law is the fundamental path.It is wise to give full play to the subjective initiative of college students and make the spirit of the rule of law become their sincere belief.Promoting legal education in colleges and universities is a key project.It is necessary to give full play to the main role of colleges and universities in imparting legal knowledge,cultivating legal emotion and cultivating legal ability.Creating favorable external conditions is the realistic basis.It is very important to fully coordinate the forces of school,family and society to comprehensively and effectively promote the cultivation of the spirit of rule of law among college students.In recent years,with the strengthening and improvement of legal education in colleges and universities,the cultivation of college students' legal belief has achieved some results.Many college students have formed an identity and firm belief in the rule of law and had the capacity to consciously use legal means to solve social problems during the process of knowing the law,respecting the law and abiding by the law.However,some college students still lack faith in the rule of law,such as lack of systematic legal knowledge,uncertainty in legal trust,utilitarian legal cognition and disconnection between legal belief and behavior choice.Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen and improve the cultivation of college students' belief in the rule of law from different aspects based on the influencing factors and the key elements.First of all,it is suggested to systematically strengthen the self-rule of law education of college students.It is necessary to accurately grasp the connotation and characteristics of self-rule of law education,clarify the mechanism of self-rule of law education,and enhance the self-consciousness of college students.In order to improve the effect of self-education,it is suggested to guide college students to expand the content of self-education and promote the diversified development of education methods from the perspectives of shaping independent personality,cultivating the emotion of rule by law and forming the thinking of rule by law.Next,it is suggested to reform and innovation and overall optimization of law education in colleges and universities.Colleges and universities should not only make clear the orientation of legal education and impart the knowledge of rule by law,but also strengthen the cultivation of the concept and value of rule by law,so as to cultivate the feelings of rule by law of college students,and then to form their belief of rule by law.Colleges and universities should comprehensively promote the reform of legal education and teaching from the aspects of curriculum system,teaching content,education mode,teachers and supporting conditions,so as to improve the teaching effect.Last but not least,it is suggested to create external conditions to help college students cultivate their belief in the rule of law.There is an interactive relationship between the cultivation of college students' belief in the rule of law and the external environment of campus.The government and society should maintain the correct guidance of public opinion and create external conditions conducive to the cultivation of college students' belief in the rule of law.The country,society and colleges and universities should change their educational ideas,re-examine the legal education of college students from the height of the construction of the rule of law in China,and promote the formation of the belief in the rule of law among college students through diversified cooperation.
