Research On The Spatial Structure Of Tourism Competitiveness Of Coastal Cities In My Country

The coastal cities are the main tourist destinations and developed regions of tourismindustry, which is of great significance. The dissertation studies the spatial structureof coastal city tourism competitiveness, the study can provide directional guidance ofthe position of the city tourism development, development goals, and comparativeadvantage. According to the evaluation results, we can acquire the influential factorsof city tourism development and analyze its mechanism. By adjusting these influentialfactors, it can change the environment features of city tourism development, promotetourism competitiveness and realize the sustainable development. Meanwhile thedissertation tries to theoretically improve the evaluation of tourism competitivenessspatial structure in city tourism discipline system.Firstly, on the basis of reviewing the related literatures of tourism competitivenessand tourism spatial structure at home and abroad, it reviews the study, and thenelaborates the basic concepts and related theories. Based on this, the theoretical studytakes shape on the basis of the spatial structure of coastal city tourism competitivenessin China. Secondly, after reviewing the literatures of city tourism competitiveness andfollowing the principles such as scientificity, objectivity, systematicness, it builds theevaluation index system of tourism competitiveness of the coastal cities. Thirdly, itanalyzes the competitiveness of coastal city tourism infrastructure, tourismdevelopment situation and tourism ecological environment by using PrincipalComponent Analysis. According to tourism comprehensive competitiveness scores, itperforms System Cluster Analysis on the coastal city, and then studies the spatialstructure of coastal city tourism competitiveness. Based on this, it takes Dalian as acase study of tourism competitiveness.The content is as follows:The first chapter is the introduction, mainly expounding the research background,research significance, research methods and technical route.The second chapter is the research progress at home and abroad, mainly reviewing70foreign papers and170domestic ones, concluding main research field at home andabroad. Then it compares research fields, research methods and research objectsbetween domestic and abroad, and chooses the research perspective.The third chapter is the basic concepts and theoretical basis, analyzing the basicconcepts of city, city tourism, tourism city, competitiveness, tourism competitiveness,city tourism competitiveness, coastal city tourism competitiveness and tourism spatialstructure, sorting involved theories—competitive advantage theory, Butler tourism destination life cycle theory, regional growth pole theory, core-edge theory,“pointaxis” asymptotic diffusion theory and the circle structure theory.The fourth chapter is the study on coastal city tourism competitiveness evaluationindex system and study methods—Principal Component Analysis and System ClusterAnalysis. After reviewing the literatures of city tourism competitiveness andfollowing the principles such as scientificity, objectivity, systematicness, hierarchy,dynamics, operability, it builds the evaluation index system of tourismcompetitiveness of the coastal cities consisting of3categories and25indicators, andtreats coastal cities as research object.The fifth chapter is the analysis of coastal city tourism competitiveness in China.On the basis of coastal cities classified indexes original data, it analyzes thecompetitiveness of coastal city tourism infrastructure, coastal city tourismdevelopment situation and coastal city tourism ecological environment by usingPrincipal Component Analysis. Further more, it performs System Cluster Analysisaccording to tourism comprehensive competitiveness scores.The sixth chapter is the study on the spatial structure of coastal city tourismcompetitiveness in China. Coastal city tourism competitiveness structure containsseven levels and presents “Three core radial” spatial pattern. Then it analyzes theforming mechanism of coastal city tourism competitiveness structure and putsforward spatial structure of coastal city tourism competitiveness—cultivating tourismcomprehensive competitiveness, improving tourism service competitiveness anddeveloping city and product characteristics.The seventh chapter is the case study on the tourism competitiveness of Dalian. Itstarts from four aspects—Dalian tourism development history, the forecast of Daliantourism development, influential factors of Dalian tourism comprehensivecompetitiveness and promotion strategy of Dalian tourism comprehensivecompetitiveness.The eighth chapter is the conclusion and outlook, summarizing the mainconclusions, refining the innovative point of the dissertation, having a discussionabout the defects, then proposing the problem for further study.
