In the past decade,food safety accidents have occurred frequently,such as "melamine","clenbuterol","cadmium rice" and other major food safety incidents that have caused great harm to Chinese people.According to "the analysis report on China's food safety incidents in the mainstream internet public opinion report from 2005 to 2014",227000 food safety incidents occurred in China between 2005 and 2014,an average of 62.3 events per day through the whole country.The severe food safety actuality has become an important problem that plagues the economic and social development of our country and a hot issue that the whole society pays close attention to.The main raw materials for food production and processing are agricultural products,therefore,the core issue of domestic food safety is essentially the quality safety of agricultural products.As the main supplier of agricultural products(foods),agribusiness have become a hot topic in the field of food safety.However,from the existing literature,most studies are limited to the following basic logic when exploring the general mechanism of corporate food safety behaviors: agricultural products(foods)has the basic characteristics of search,experience and trust,under the premise of information asymmetry and double failure of makert regulation and government regulation,and in the creed of profit supremacy,agribusiness' s lack of CSR leads to food safety problem.There is little literature to focus on executives and their pressure perception that can influence the behavior of corporate to a large extent,and at the same time,the existing literature ignores the conditions such as industry characteristics,organization characteristics and so on.Based on this,this article takes agribusiness as the research object,and combines with industry characteristics,organization characteristics and some conditions to study executive's influence on agribusiness' s food safety behavior from the perspective of executive's pressure perception.Around research topic,this study spread out discussion from theoretical analysis and empirical test.Theoretical part.First of all,on the basis of research achievements in the related fields,put forward the problems to be solved in this study,that is,explore the mechanism of executive's influence on food safety behavior from the perspective of executive's pressure perception.Then based on the definition of agribusiness,this study analyzes the industry characters,organization characteristics of agribusiness,and clarifies the contents and dimensions of the pressure from stakeholders.Next,on the basis of theory corporate social responsibility and upper echelons,this study expounds the basic logic of the influence of executive's pressure perception on agribusiness' s food safety behavior,and constructs the conduction logic “executive's pressure perception—changes of executive's ethical leadership level — agribusiness' s food safety behavior” with situation factors corporate characteristics(visibility of agribusiness,production organization form of agribusiness)and executives characteristics(senior executive' s management discretion)concerned,and explains the mediating effect of executive's ethical leadership and the moderating effect of corporate characteristics and executives characteristics;Empirical part.This paper uses the survey data of 435 agribusiness in Guangdong and Hubei to empirically examine the conceptual model.On the whole,this paper draws the following conclusions:(1)Regulatory pressure perception positively affects agribusiness' s food safety behavior,Economic pressure perception negatively affects agribusiness' s food safety behavior,Competitive pressure perception negatively affects agribusiness' s food safety behavior;(2)The level of executives' ethical leadership plays a mediating role between the executive's pressure perception and the agribusiness' s food safety behaviors;(3)Corporate visibility moderates the relationship between executive's pressure perception and executive's ethics leadership.Specifically,corporate visibility increases the positive relationship between the executive's regulatory pressure perception and the level of executive's ethics leadership,reducces the negative relationship between the executive's economic pressure perception and the level of executive's ethics leadership,and reducces the negative relationship between the executive's competitive pressure perception and the level of executive's ethical leadership.That is,when the executive's pressure perception is certain,the improvement of agribusiness' s visibility promotes the level of executive's ethical leadership;(4)Executive's management discretion increases the positive relationship between the executive's ethical leadership level and agribusiness' s food safety behavior;(5)Agribusiness' s production organization form increases the positive relationship between the executive's ethical leadership level and agribusiness' s food safety behavior;(6)Agribusiness' s visibility has the first stage moderating effect on mediating effect of executive's ethical leadership level,that is,agribusiness' s visibility influences agribusiness' s food safety behavior by moderating the relationship between executive's pressure perception and executive's ethical leadership level.Specifically,agribusiness' s visibility promotes agribusiness' s food safety behavior by increasing the positive relationship between executive's regulatory pressure perception and executive's ethical leadership level,agribusiness' s visibility promotes agribusiness' s food safety behavior by reducing the negative relationship between executive's economic pressure perception and executive's ethical leadership level,and agribusiness' s visibility promotes agribusiness' s food safety behavior by reducing the negative relationship between executive's competitive pressure perception and executive's ethical leadership level;(7)Executive's management discretion and agribusiness' s production organization form have the second stage moderating effecet on mediating effect of executive's ethical leadership level,that is,executive's management discretion and agribusiness' s production organization form influence the relationship between executive's pressure perception and agribusiness' s food safety behavior by increasing the positive relationship between executive's ethical leadership level and agribusiness' s food safety behavior.Specifically,executive's management discretion and agribusiness' s production organization form increase the positive relationship between executive's regulatory pressure perception and agribusiness' s food safety behavior,increase the negative relationship between executive's economic and competitive pressure perception and agribusiness' s food safety behavior by increasing the positive relationship between executive's ethical leadership level and agribusiness' s food safety behavior.The possible innovation of this article are as follows:(1)This study is to understand the agribusiness' s food safety behavior from the perspective of the agribusiness' s micro subject—senior executive,which provides a new angle for understanding the agribusiness' s food safety behavior;(2)This study expounds the mechanism of the influence of executive's pressure perception on agribusiness' s food safety behavior by constructing the main logic “executive's pressure perception—executive's ethical leadership—agribusiness' s food safety behavior” with situation factors corporate characteristicsand executives characteristics concerned,which provides a new theoretical framework for understanding agribusiness' s food safety behavior.
