Study On The Development Of Chinese Agribusiness

More than thirty years ago, China’s reform curtain first opened in rural areas. Household contract management as the core of the agricultural and rural system reform greatly liberated rural productivity, which laid a good foundation for the development of agriculture, increasing farmers’ income, improving rural infrastructure. More than thirty years later, the enormous changes in China’s rural economic and social landscape has undergone. However, as China’s industrialization and urbanization progress, with the further development of the rural economy and society, "three rural problems" has new performance. They are reflected in three aspects:First, the contradictions between current small-scale farmers and open, unified market have become increasingly prominent; the second is that widespread small-scale mode of operation in rural is not conducive to the dispersion and popularization of advanced production tools and advanced agricultural science technology; Third, the economic benefits of farming is not high, a large number of young rural migrant labor force have left country for city, which leads to large tracts of rural land being abandoned.These problems are not man’s subjective will, which are bound to arise in the process of agricultural modernization in our country. That prompted us to adjust rural economic policies, to change the mode of agricultural operation to meet the new requirements of agricultural development. The Communist Party of China and government have attached great importance to the "three rural problems" facing the new problems emerging in China’s agricultural development, CPC Central Committee and State Council take everything into account, accurate pulse, timely adjust guidelines and policies. Especially since the year of 2007, the State Council held special meetings on agriculture development, issued special documents, provided system guarantee and policy support for the transformation of our country’s agricultural development. Third Plenary Session of 18th CPC Gazette pointed out clearly that "encouraging transferring contractual management rights to professional large family farms, specialized farmer cooperatives, agribusiness, the development of various forms of scale on the open market" ["CPC Central Committee on Some Major Issues Concerning Comprehensively Deepening the Reform ", Xinhua November 12,2013, the reference date of March 13,2016.], Which for the transformation of agricultural development pointed out the direction.Based on previous research results, this paper regards our country’s agribusiness as a unified whole to find common characters and problems they have, and propose policy suggestions for agribusiness development problems. Specifically, the paper is divided into three parts:The first part is the interpretation of the concepts related to agribusiness and the necessity for the development of agribusiness in China; the second part is reviews of the China’s mode of operation of the agricultural development process and the current status quo of China’s agribusiness, including achievements and problems; the third part is the experience of agribusiness in developed countries, the enlightenment to China and the fifth part is policy suggestions for the problems in the development of agribusiness.
