A Study Related To The Coordinated Development Between “the Village Urbanization“ In Ethnic Villages And Rural Revitalization

The modernized construction of ethnic regions is an important component for achieving socialist modernization in China,and the persistence and efficiency of development in ethnic regions determines the success of rural revitalization.Ethnic villages typically mirror diversified culture such as ethnic culture,local culture,and regional culture.Meanwhile,as one type of carrier of tangible culture in rural areas,ethnic villages reflect multiple appeals for economic,cultural,and ecological development in rural areas.Besides,the rapid growth with high quality of ethnic villages can significantly contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and revitalizing the rural.Yet,the rapid development of urbanization engenders plenty of problems to the ethnic area.For example,population outflow has caused a series of issues such as cultural discontinuity,loss of value,and decay of the rural,which precipitate some ethnic villages into a dilemma of development and a crisis of decline.The decline of ethnic villages implies the decline of diversified culture,resulting in the vanishment of characteristics and features in rural areas.The revitalization of the rural is both neither promoting construction simply and blindly and exploring another way by abandoning existing culture;instead,revitalization of the rural relies on ethnic villages.As a special form of rural elements,the ethnic village is an essential fulcrum of the revitalization of the rural,as well as a vital component of urbanization.However,ethnic areas constraint the substantial development of ethnic villages to different degrees,and the primary reason for this issue is the lack of investigation of connections and relationships among ethnic villages,urbanization,and rural revitalization.The shared functions of urbanization and ethnic village cultivate a developmental pattern called “village urbanization”,which may contribute to the revitalization of the rural.This research tries to develop the theory of “ village urbanization ” and the endogenous model of development,which is based on the extension and expansion of the construct call “the village urbanization”.“Village urbanization”refers to a process through which ethnic villages fully utilize factors such as financial resources,technology,human resources,and information for development,promote mutual accumulation and circulation of elements between the urban and rural through urbanization,achieve some functions of the urban by smoothing the flow of elements and incorporating functions of the urban,realize the advancement of villages' functions,become an integrative hub with diverse elements including culture,ecology,transportation,logistics,business,residence,consumption,and employment,and form the evolving structure of rural construction.“village urbanization” aims to achieve the urban functions of ethnic villages by boosting functions,promoting the revitalization of the rural,and fostering urbanization.Not all ethnic villages can be urbanized because such process requires prerequisites such as advantageous geographical location,advantageous history and culture,advantageous resources,developmental advantages of industries,and advantageous spatial arrangement,which not only immensely reveal the value of ethnic villages but are necessary for the revitalization of the rural.With partial functions of the urban to facilitate substantial development of the rural,“village urbanization”,as a constructed entity with multiple elements,provides a potential approach for ethnic villages to realize revitalization.By exploring the pattern of“village urbanization”,the revitalization of the rural tries to highlight what the rural has to say about its development,rebuilds the emotional connection between recipients of rural culture and the rural,makes the plural-subject experience life in villages by reconstructing the place carried with homesickness,creates an environment where residents live with dignity,live peacefully,and live dream lives by consolidating cultural confidence.By investigation,this research found that:(1)Village urbanization is one type of heuristic approach with Chinese characteristics in the modernization development of ethnic villages,which can promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the revitalization of the rural.(2)Village urbanization,based on the urban function of ethnic villages,should place not only the integrated development of rural but also solutions of conflicts related to the dualistic development between the urban and the rural in priority.(3)Ethnic villages should give play to advantages accordingly,explore diverse patterns of village urbanization,and take the road of the revitalization of the rural by simultaneously developing characteristics of villages and solving the problem of homogeneous development.(4)Village urbanization helps some ethnic villages out of troubles of decline,facilitates the development of villages by advancing functions,achieves high-quality development by saving costs of rural construction,and encourages farmers who leave their hometown to take roots in,develop,and reciprocate villages.(5)Rural revitalization decreases the risk of decline and disappearance of some valuable ethnic villages and facilitates the substantial development of villages in the process of village urbanization.(6)Given that village urbanization and rural revitalization develop and promote mutually,the developmental vitality of the rural will reappear by appropriately dealing with the relationship between tradition and modernization and the relationship between protection and development.After investigation,this research calls for more ethnic villages which have culture and resources to develop towards urbanization and play their value.The theory of“the village urbanization” is aligned with the tendency of urbanization and requirements of rural revitalization.“Village urbanization”is an essential way that leads to urbanization.Utilizing ethnic village,which is a special form of the rural,investigating the inherent logic and developmental pattern of rural revitalization by taking advantage of ethnic villages' value,and understating how “village urbanization” contributes to the great renewal of the Chinese nation and rural revitalization in ethnic minority areas are of great significance.
