China is currently the world’s largest energy consumer.In 2020,China’s coal consumption accounted for 56.8% of the national energy consumption.Facing the carbon dioxide emissions generated by such a huge coal consumption,China urgently needs to change the economic growth mode and improve relevant policies and regulations,and assume the responsibility of energy conservation and emission reduction.While China’s economy is developing rapidly,its energy efficiency is still at a low level for developed countries.Therefore,improving energy efficiency and reducing energy intensity become the only way to achieve sustainable development.The Chinese government strives to achieve carbon peak by 2030,and to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060,which is a major strategic decision made by the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core.In March 2021,General Secretary Xi Jinping in the 9th meeting of the central finance committee stressed:"We must unswervingly implement the new development concept,adhere to the concept of system,deal with the relationship between development and emission reduction,overall and local,short-term and medium-term,take the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development as the guide,take the green and low-carbon development of energy as the key,accelerate the formation of industrial structure,production mode,lifestyle and spatial pattern of saving resources and protecting the environment,and unswervingly follow the high-quality development path of ecological priority and green low-carbon." However,due to the difference and imbalance of regional economic development and resource endowment,there are significant differences in energy intensity between provinces in China to improve energy efficiency Reduce the intensity of provincial energy and realize the harmonious development of national economy and ecological environment,to achieve the goals of energy conservation and emissions reduction,the Chinese government must fully recognize the Chinese provincial energy intensity fell by practical difficulties faced by,and combined with the regional economic development strategy of energy and environment and introduced relevant industry and energy policy,for regional energy conservation and emissions reduction policy formulation and implementation to provide reference and reference And promote sustainable economic and energy development.In this context,it is an important direction of current research to optimize the decline of China’s provincial energy intensity and seek the optimal path to solve the problem of China’s provincial energy intensity.This paper takes China’s provincial energy intensity as the research object,takes ecological economy theory,circular economy theory,sustainable development theory,green growth theory and low-carbon economy theory as the guidance,uses quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis,empirical analysis and comparative analysis,according to the basic theory of energy intensity energy intensity measurement→The spatial distribution characteristics of China’s inter-provincial energy intensity→Empirical analysis of the influencing factors of China’s inter-provincial energy intensity→optimize the path structure of China’s inter-provincial energy intensity.The whole paper is divided into seven chapters: The first chapter is the introduction,mainly introduces the research background,theory and practical significance of the research method used in the basic structure and main content of the article,as well as the main innovation points and shortcomings of the second chapter literature review,aiming at energy intensity The spatial characteristics of energy intensity and the influencing factors of energy intensity were studied and sorted out.The third chapter is the basic theory of this paper.Firstly,it expounds the concept of energy and classifies energy,defines the concept of energy intensity,and then sorts out the related basic theories of energy intensity,including ecological economy theory,circular economy theory and sustainable development theory Finally,the spatial economics theory is introduced to guide the empirical research in the following chapter.The fourth chapter measures the energy intensity of China’s provinces,and analyzes the overall situation of China’s energy intensity and provincial energy intensity The results show that China’s energy intensity is declining as a whole,but due to the constraints of geographical location,resource endowment,economic development and other factors,the energy intensity gap between provinces is large,and the spatial distribution difference is obvious.In chapter 5,the spatial distribution characteristics of China’s provincial energy intensity are analyzed by ESTDA,and the global moran index and local Moran index are used to analyze China’s provincial energy intensity The analysis of moran scatter plot and LISA space-time transition data shows that China’s inter-provincial energy intensity has spatial autocorrelation and heterogeneity,and the spatial agglomeration phenomenon is obvious.Provinces with high energy intensity gather together and provinces with low energy intensity gather together.The sixth chapter analyzes the factors affecting China’s provincial energy intensity based on spatial convergence hypothesis.Firstly,the σ convergence and absolute β convergence of China’s provincial energy intensity are analyzed,and it is concluded that China’s provincial energy intensity tends to σ converge and absolute β convergence.Secondly,from the technological progress level,economic development level,industrial structure,foreign direct investment,energy structure,urbanization level and energy price,the conditional β convergence analysis of the factors affecting China’s inter-provincial energy intensity,the results show that foreign direct investment Technological progress and the improvement of economic development level will reduce China’s inter-provincial energy intensity,indicating that China has entered a new stage of high-quality economic development,while the increase of coal consumption,the proportion of secondary industry,the increase of energy and resource prices and the continuous expansion of urbanization will improve China’s inter-provincial energy intensity.And China is divided into four regions to study the factors affecting regional energy intensity.The seventh chapter puts forward the specific path optimization of China’s provincial energy intensity,including saving energy industry structure optimization of energy structure adjustment Raise the level of technological innovation Build a regional coordination of energy policy Improve the incentive constraints mechanism Deepen the international exchange of energy and so on,these countermeasures and Suggestions to reduce the strength of China’s provincial energy has strong application value and guiding significance.The innovative points of this paper are as follows: first,the exploratory spatiotemporal analysis(ESTDA)is used to analyze the spatial distribution characteristics of energy intensity in China.Second,from the perspective of spatial convergence,the influencing factors and spatial spillover effects of China’s provincial energy intensity are explored,China is divided into four regions and the factors affecting regional energy intensity are studied.Third,it puts forward the path selection of optimizing China’s interprovincial energy intensity.The countermeasures and suggestions put forward have strong pertinence and operability,and have strong application value and reference significance for rationally reducing China’s energy intensity.
