| Objective:Through studying the textual characteristics of the existing ancient books on traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)surgery,and delving the textual correlation between different monographs,the paper puts forward a proposal on the construction of TCM surgery academic schools based on textual evidence,in order to provide some references for the study of the academic development history of TCM surgery.Methods:The traditional research methods of Chinese medical literature including bibliography,bibliology,textology and the gathering of scattered writings are utilized to compile ancient books.And iconographical research methods are adopted to analyze the graphics in the book.In addition,a comprehensive learning theory is used to analyze the relevant factors that affect the personal growth of the school masters.Results:1.TCM surgery can be classified into seven academic schools based on textual correlation.(1)Zhong Zang-Jing Yao School: The surgical academic school takes Huatuo’s Zhongzang Classic(Zhong Zang Jing)and Essence of Diagnosis and Treatment of External Disease(Wai Ke Jing Yao)as its representative literature,taking carbuncle as the disease cause and advocating the “theory of toxin accumulation in zang-fu organs”.(2)Fa Hui-Yi An School: The surgical academic school takes Elaboration of Essence of Diagnosis and Treatment of External Disease(Wai Ke Jing Yao Fa Hui)and Xyue’s Medical Records(Xue Shi Yi An)as its representative literature,integrating the academic thoughts of Danxi and Dongyuan.(3)Gang Mu-Zhun Sheng School: The surgical academic school takes Compendium of Medicine(Yi Xue Gang Mu)and Standards of Surgical Diagnosis and Treatment(Yang Yi Zheng Zhi Zhun Sheng)as its representative literature,inheriting and integrating the academic thoughts of Danxi and Xyueji.(4)Zheng Zong-Jin Jian School: The surgical academic school takes Orthodox Manual of External Medicine(Wai Ke Zheng Zong)and the Golden Mirror of Medicine: Concise Comprehension of Surgery(Yi Zong Jin Jian:Wai Ke Xin Fa Yao Jyue)as its representative literature,attaching equal importance to internal and external treatment and making good use of acupotomology.(5)Xian Fang-Quan Shu School: The surgical academic school takes Efficacious Prescriptions for Emergency(Ji Jiu Xian Fang)and Collection of Surgical Experiential Therapy(Chuang Yang Jing Yan Quan Shu)as its representative literature,taking graphics as an important reference for treatment.(6)Qing Nang-Quan Sheng School: The surgical academic school takes the Secrets of Medical Practice(Qing Nang Mi Jyue)and Life-saving Manual of Diagnosis and Treatment of External Diseases(Wai Ke Zheng Zhi Quan Sheng Ji)as its representative literature,advocating internal elimination and opposing acupotomology and corrosive drugs.(7)Xin De-Mi Yao School: The surgical academic school takes Experience Gained in Treating External Diseases(Yang Ke Xin De Ji)and Medical Secrets of Surgical Treatment(Wai Ke Zheng Zhi Mi Yao)as its representative literature,successfully applying the theory of warm diseases on treating surgical diseases.2.Based on the perspective of folk practitioners,the paper discusses the treatment characteristics of surgical external treatment,and draws the inheritance map of Taizhou folk practitioners.3.The paper discusses the relevant factors affecting the personal growth of the school masters,and the enlightenment of the relationship between individual and team to the development of academic schools on the basis of learning theory.Conclusions:1.Surgical academic schools can be established based on textual correlation,which are not only maintaining a certain degree of independence,but also sharing intersection and integration.However,the controversy about some methods of diagnosis or treatment are incessant and will exist for a long time.The Enlightenment of seeking common ground while reserving differences is of great significance for us to excavate the value of TCM academic schools.2.The effect in the field of TCM surgery produced by folk practitioners,who are adept at external treatment can not be underestimated.Their treatment methods can be explained by the theories of eliminating pathogens in Internal Classic.As the represent of folk medical team,folk practitioners coexist with Confucian doctors in the river of history.And they provide a good example for us to study the medical situation of TCM.3.Academic schools are the cradle for cultivating talents,and an excellent academic team can create a good learning atmosphere.Conversely,learners who grow up in a good academic team are more likely to succeed and become the backbone in the school,or even establish their own schools.This is the realistic enlightenment that the study of academic schools brings to each of us. |
